Estimator – Heavy Civil & Concrete

Location: Phoenix/Peoria, AZ (Onsite)

Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000 base + Annual Bonus + Benefits

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing heavy civil construction team in the Phoenix/Peoria area. This role plays a key part in delivering accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of concrete and earthwork projects, including sidewalks, curbs, box culverts, headwalls, and transportation-related infrastructure.

You’ll be part of a collaborative estimating department with the ability to contribute immediately while also receiving support and training for larger projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze proposal documents including drawings, specifications, and related contract information.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs, prepare bid packages, and submit competitive proposals on time.
• Evaluate project scope and resource needs, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Communicate with owners, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and ensure bid completeness.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy, compliance, and scope coverage.
• Prepare budgets and handoff packages for project management and field teams.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and site visits to evaluate project conditions and risks.
• Participate in estimate review meetings and support field teams with project cost tracking, change orders, and production follow-up.
• Maintain historical data and organized bid files for future use.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience, including at least 2 years in civil construction estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and contract documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Heavy Bid (HCSS), and AutoCAD.
• Exposure to Trimble GPS, HeavyJob, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of earthmoving equipment and production rates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
