Traveling Installation Foreman– Specialty Finishing Systems (Nationwide Travel)

Based ideally in or near Idaho

Travel: 75–100% (continental U.S.)

Are you a hands-on foreman or field leader who thrives on problem-solving, team leadership, and rolling up your sleeves to get the job done right? Do you have experience leading installation crews in sheet metal construction, booth or duct system assembly, or industrial facilities and want to take on large-scale, custom projects nationwide?

A growing manufacturer and installer of highly specialized finishing systems is seeking an Installation Supervisor / Foreman to lead on-site crews across the U.S. You'll oversee the full installation of paint booths, powder coating ovens, sandblasting booths, and ventilation systems for high-profile clients in manufacturing, aerospace, and defense. This is a traveling role with assignments typically lasting 2–3 weeks per project, with occasional larger installs running 6–12 weeks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of 3–4 field installers on nationwide projects, assembling large custom-built systems shipped in crates
  • Oversee layout, placement, and assembly of paint booth systems using construction drawings and blueprints
  • Coordinate subcontracted services like electrical and ductwork tie-ins
  • Manage on-site equipment rentals, personnel scheduling, and jobsite logistics
  • Act as the client’s main point of contact during installation, ensuring satisfaction and solving problems on the spot
  • Adapt to real-world installation challenges like imperfect drawings, interference from other trades, or missing parts—problem-solving and executing workarounds as needed
  • Source and hire supplemental local crew members via temp agencies or job boards, with support from internal leadership
  • Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and meet aggressive deadlines for job completion

Compensation & Perks:

  • Base salary: $75,000–$90,000 DOE
  • Project-based incentives for beating timelines
  • Annual profit-sharing bonus (~16% of base salary last year)
  • Schedule: 4x10s + OT as needed. When you finish early, you head home early.
  • Travel expenses fully covered
  • Optional: short-term housing and relocation support available for those moving to Idaho

What You Need to Bring:

  • Experience as a Foreman, Field Supervisor, or Lead Installer in metal building construction, finishing systems, steel erection or structural ironwork
  • Strong sheet metal and ductwork assembly skills
  • Blueprint reading and site layout experience
  • Clean background (must be eligible for military base access)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel frequently for extended projects (multi-week)

Bonus Points For:

  • Welding experience (field or shop)
  • Cleanroom construction experience
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD (a plus—not required)
  • Experience in powder coating systems, HVAC, or air handling systems
