Sales Manager – Electronic Components | Huntley, IL | 30% Travel

We’re seeking a hands-on Sales Manager to lead and grow a small but high-performing sales team for a fast-growing player in the lighting and electronic components industry. This role is ideal for a player-coach who thrives in both leading people and directly engaging in the sales process.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a 4–5 person sales team (inside sales + regional sales)
• Engage directly with clients to support complex deals and maintain key relationships
• Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging and support growth initiatives
• Monitor sales performance, forecast revenue, and drive operational improvements
• Travel to client sites and industry tradeshows (30% travel)
• Manage a portfolio generating $5M+ in annual revenue while guiding the team to exceed targets

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of B2B sales experience in electronic components or related industries (lighting, technical/industrial sectors)
• Proven sales leadership experience, including managing and scaling teams
• Ability to manage both short and long sales cycles (1 week to several months)
• Strong mentorship and coaching skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Comfort working with procurement teams, product managers, and engineers
• Track record of exceeding revenue goals and driving strategic growth

• Familiarity with average deal sizes in the $5K–$10K+ range

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: $80K–$85K to start with potential increase up to $125K within 90 days based on performance
• Commission based on overall sales (less than 0.1% of total sales)
