Architectural Product Sales Consultant
Location: Remote/Hybrid – Must be based in Arizona, with field visits to meet architects and clients.
Compensation: Base salary around $70,000 (flexible for the right candidate) + commission (average total comp $150K+; top performers earn $200K+).
Travel: Occasional travel within Arizona; monthly trips to Tucson; annual company meetings (2–3 days).
About the Role
Seeking a driven sales professional who excels at building and maintaining strong relationships with architects. In this role, you’ll be a key partner in the planning and design phase, guiding architects toward solutions that will be specified in their projects. Once products are in the plans, you’ll work with internal teams to prepare bids and ensure our solutions are selected by general contractors during construction.
This is a long-cycle, relationship-based sales role where you’ll work on projects ranging from $50K to $500K, often spanning 6 months to 3 years. Your success will come from influencing the design phase and maintaining a trusted advisor role with the architecture community.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects to have products specified in design plans.
- Present and demonstrate specialty construction products, including telescopic bleachers, moveable walls, and other Division 8–12 solutions.
- Understand architect needs and project requirements, recommending products that align with their vision and budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams to create plans, submit bids, and ensure accurate delivery to general contractors once products are specified.
- Track project progress from specification through installation, maintaining consistent communication with stakeholders.
- Utilize lead tools like Dodge to identify upcoming public facility and school projects.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and project details using Excel, Outlook, and related tools.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in construction or building products.
- Proven track record of selling to architects, with established relationships in the architecture and design community.
- Knowledge of construction specification processes and Division 8–12 products is a plus.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to work with PDFs, Excel, and digital presentation tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
