What you will do
- Lead collaborations with simulation engineers, data scientists, and customers to understand complex user pain points and needs.
- Conduct user research to gain insights into user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
- Translate user research findings into actionable design solutions that address user needs and business objectives.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment and successful execution of design initiatives.
- Iterate designs based on feedback, user testing, and data analysis to continually improve the user experience.
- Design for expert users and enterprise solutions, understanding the complexities and nuances of these environments.
- Maintain and evolve design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across our products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually enhance design processes and deliverables.
What the ideal candidate looks like
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Dovetail, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices, with the ability to design intuitive and engaging user experiences.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and defend design decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
- Experience designing for expert users (e.g., Mechanical Engineers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers) in enterprise situations is a plus.
- Experience in data science/machine learning is a plus.
- Experience working in 3D design (e.g., Houdini, Blender, Unity3D) is a plus.
