London, UK

Big delivery companies have had it their way for too long. In a world where you can order food from any restaurant and get it delivered in minutes, ecommerce is being left behind. The legacy companies chuck parcels over your fence, make you wait in all day, or give you tracking that feels like it was built in the 90s (probably because it was). It’s a terrible experience for consumers and merchants alike.

We’re on a mission to change that. We’re rebuilding deliveries from the ground up, using our own tech and electric vehicles to fundamentally change the way things work. We’re building the best deliveries on earth 🌎

The operations team at Packfleet is the backbone of everything we do. We manage the entirety of the physical operation, including managing our drivers and warehouse team, ensuring our all-electric fleet is raring to go, amazing customer support for merchants and recipients, and much more. Plus problem solving in the moment when things go wrong!

We're looking for amazing people to join our operations team. Your role will be varied, with room to grow in the directions that you enjoy.

You will be taking on a number of challenging operational problems that are critical to our success. You will be responsible for a number of areas of logistics at Packfleet, from forecasting and rota'ing in drivers, to managing the performance and relationships with our delivery service partners, and managing how parcels get from our merchants to us (either through relationships with trunking partners, or managing our team of collections drivers).

We're looking for someone that doesn’t necessarily have direct experience but instead someone smart and capable who’s excited about diving in, making data-driven decisions, and learning as we grow.

What you’ll be doing day to day:

  • Ensuring our merchants have a great experience when we go collect from them, whether from the collections team you manage or through third-party trunking partners
  • Managing the relationship with our delivery service partners and ensuring their drivers are performing well
  • Rota'ing drivers based on forecasts to ensure we have enough drivers and cover for a smooth day for both us and for our recipients & merchants
  • Costing & owning the budget for trunking (also known as middle-mile) and challenging yourself to improve this by digging into the data
  • Supporting our front-line live operations & customer operations team so they are set up for success as they support drivers on the road and merchants & recipients
  • Nurturing a transparent and supportive culture within the wider team
  • Taking on challenging operational problems that are critical to our success, and drive us forward as a comapny
  • Being on-call as needed if there are critical issues or incidents
  • Getting the opportunity to input into other areas of the business that interest you, whether that’s refining the product, up-skilling on SQL, or anything else

🏡 Logistics (pun intended 🫢)

This role is based at our office/depot in Bermondsey, London with some flexibility for remote working. You'll be working Monday through Friday though may need to be on-call on occasions in the evenings or at weekends if there is an incident or disruption.

💌 How to apply

You can apply here in just a few minutes, and if you have any questions or queries you’re welcome also to drop an email to jobs@packfleet.com as well. We are able to sponsor visas for this role.

💛 Our commitment to diversity

We care deeply about creating a diverse team so we particularly encourage applications from people from different underrepresented demographics and encourage you, regardless of your background and past experience, to apply if the role excites you.

If we want to solve problems for people across the UK (and one day around the world), our team has to represent those we’re solving them for. So we need to attract the best talent and create an environment that supports and includes them.
