We’re building a new team to streamline the donor quality chart review process. You will be the front line, detail oriented document expert who meticulously checks to ensure we have every necessary document and piece of information before handing off the complete chart to the chart review team. You’ll also flag any eligibility concerns you spot while completing document checks to point the review team at areas of interest.
Your job will involve multitasking as you carefully track each chart’s status and communicate with our recovery partners to get missing documents. You’ll get to interact with a variety of people inside Ossium as well as outside partners on a daily basis, using a combination of organizational and people skills to track what we have and get what we need. Accurate chart review facilitates the timely release of donors for transplant, so this role will be a critical link in the chain that allows patients to be treated with Ossium’s therapies. You will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Donation Compliance and work out of Ossium’s San Francisco office Mon-Thurs and remotely on Friday.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance function at an organ procurement organization, tissue recovery agency, or tissue processor or equivalent experience working with hospital charts and medical records
- Ability to quickly and accurately organize and review large amounts of documentation
- Extremely detail oriented
- Comfort with medical terminology
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and AATB standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and able to interact professionally with external partners
- This position is based in our San Francisco office; we maintain a hybrid schedule of Monday - Thursday in the office, with Friday as a remote work day
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing and releasing donor charts
- AATB CTBS certification
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the speedy delivery of completed charts for all clinical donors to the QA team for review
- Split charts into individual files and organize into folders, updating and removing duplicates as new information is received
- Confirm basic donor information matches (Names, IDs, DOB, etc.) on all documentation received
- Check QA documentation received against a list and identify any missing or incomplete documents
- Put missing documentation on pending list and maintains logs of document status
- Review donor records for accuracy and completeness and flag donors for downgrade that do not meet basic acceptance criteria
- Process incoming emails from recovery partners until a complete chart is obtained
- Manage donor status and associated notifications within the exchange system
- Follow up with partners in a timely manner, to obtain missing documentation and verification of vital information
- Pass donor files to chart review team when all documents have been collected
In your first six months some projects you’ll work on include:
- Creating comprehensive document checklist to allow easy information tracking
- Developing relationships with key members of quality and recovery teams at our recovery partners
- Collaborating on processes to streamline communication with partners utilizing our exchange system
This position has a salary range of $60,000 - $90,000 annually. Ossium Health takes a market-based approach to pay. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. This range may be modified in the future.
