About the Job

We’re hiring a Generalist to double the size of our People team! You’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact at a fast-growing biotech startup, engaging with our incredible team of Ossies in our Indianapolis science facility. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and is able to adapt and respond to a fast-paced environment. In this role, you’ll often be the person an Ossie will come to when they need information or support—your interactions will set the stage for the employee experience, so excellent communication skills are a must.

You’ll work closely with and report to our Senior Director of Talent & People Operations, providing support for onboarding, benefits, culture, and employee engagement across teams, departments, and offices. As a trusted People partner, you’ll provide perspective and guidance to ensure that Ossies are in a position to do their best work here.

This is an excellent opportunity to help build the People foundation at Ossium as we scale, and to deepen your experience in a multi-faceted and business-critical function.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a People role
  • Familiarity with navigating and maintaining an HRIS
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capability to operate with a high level of organization and excellent time management in a dynamic startup environment
  • This position is based full time in our Indianapolis facility; we are willing to consider candidates from around the United States and relocation assistance is available

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rippling
  • High-growth/startup experience
  • Life sciences experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Support employee lifecycle administration from onboarding, payroll issue resolution, benefits administration, status changes, all the way to offboarding
  • Respond to employee inquiries on policies, employee benefits and other people matters in a timely manner
  • Running our quarterly engagement survey, helping team leaders review insights into where we are doing well and where we need to focus on growth
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, monthly reports, and dashboards that help leadership utilize data to make informed business decisions
  • Take on and be part of company-wide projects that increase engagement, development and will play a role in creating a positive impact for the employee experience
  • Maintaining our dynamic and ever-growing People intranet space

In your first six months some projects you’ll work on include:

  • Getting to know the Ossies in our Indianapolis facility
  • Onboarding; ensuring that new hires have the resources and support from day one
  • Helping build out the next iteration of our milestone swag program for employees
  • Deepening the infrastructure of and determining data-driven takeaways from our new hire and engagement surveys
