About the Job

We are hiring a New York based National Trainer to train our organ and tissue recovery partners in the eastern half of the United States, with some travel to Ossium offices and partners in other areas of the country. This role is critically involved in ensuring recoveries are being done in accordance with our high standards of excellence. You’ll travel to visit our organ procurement organization (OPO) partners to make sure they have everything they need for recoveries and to resolve any issues that arise. Your work will directly help Ossium grow our bone marrow bank by doing whatever it takes to allow recoveries to happen smoothly. This position reports to the Associate Director, Recovery Services.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role before and will have experience working at an OPO in tissue recovery. A strong sense of ownership, interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, comfort with travel, and a desire to be part of our mission to save millions of lives are all key factors to success in this role. The east coast based National Trainer will spend up to two weeks per year in Ossium’s Indianapolis facility, one week per quarter at the San Francisco headquarters, and the majority of the rest of the year on the road visiting Ossium’s OPO partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience working in hospital or organ procurement organization
  • Experience working in tissue recovery, preferably including training others to perform recoveries
  • Excellent communication skills and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain new and existing relationships
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, organize time effectively
  • High degree of motivation and self-discipline with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Applicants for this role must live within 30 miles of one of the three New York area airports (JFK, EWR, or LGA) for the duration of their tenure at Ossium

  • CTBS certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and onboard new OPO partners, including organizing and running recovery wet labs
  • Perform Ossium tissue recoveries at our OPO partners as needed
  • Ensure OPOs have all the support and supplies they need
  • Interface with quality system to follow up on audit outcomes
  • Travel regularly (up to 80% of time) to partner sites for check-ins and re-trainings
  • Maintain strong relationships with teams at all partner OPOs, including keeping track of turnover and training of new recovery personnel
  • Track progress, collect data, and produce reports on how OPOs are doing
  • Maintain a conscientious approach to work with the ability to meet tight deadlines, anticipate needs and be proactive in order to resolve issues

This position has a salary range of $73,500 - $126,000 annually. Ossium Health takes a market-based approach to pay. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. This range may be modified in the future.
