We’re hiring a Vice President of Technical Operations to oversee daily operations of the facility for production and manufacturing of clinical cell and tissue therapies. This critical position will ensure the application of well-designed unit operations and play a key role in strategy development, planning, and implementation of plans for production and manufacturing that are covered under a variety of regulatory requirements.
In this role, you’ll report directly to the Chief Science Officer, and you’ll work closely with leaders across multiple departments and teams to refine procedures, increase efficiency, and maintain the highest standards of quality. Required Qualifications
- A BS or BA in biological sciences + 10 years of industry experience in a cGMP facility
- 5+ years of project management or site management experience of cell therapy programs
- Strong understanding of cGMPs including change control, CAPAs, lot release and validation
- Extensive experience in all aspects of project management including working with tools such as Microsoft Project, creating trackers, dashboards and other tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capability to operate with a high level of organization and excellent time management in a dynamic startup environment
- This position is based full time in our Indianapolis facility
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in biological sciences
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day technical operations
- Increase production and manufacturing capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and ensuring high quality standards
- Own production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions and continuous improvements
- Develop and share trusting relationships with each department and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective returns
- Partner with the People Team to address employee issues or grievances
In your first six months some projects you’ll work on include:
- Integrating work processes/flows across different departments
- Develop emerging departments and ensure optimal work flows
- Work with departments to track and trend results and integrate
- Take on executive management of key site departments
