About the Role

We are looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented Lab Interns to join our diagnostic laboratory teams. The internship will provide hands-on exposure to day-to-day laboratory operations and an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals across different diagnostic departments.

As a Lab Intern, you will work closely with the laboratory team and support routine laboratory activities while following established processes, quality standards, safety protocols, and documentation practices.

The intern may be assigned to departments such as Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Molecular Diagnostics, or other laboratory functions, based on business requirements and the candidate’s educational background.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist the laboratory team with day-to-day activities within the assigned department.
• Support sample receiving, identification, labeling, sorting, and processing as per SOPs.
• Assist with preparation and handling of samples and laboratory materials under supervision.
• Support routine laboratory procedures relevant to the assigned department.
• Assist technicians in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment as permitted and under supervision.
• Follow SOPs, laboratory protocols, biosafety guidelines, and quality control procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, registers, and documentation related to laboratory activities.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of samples and laboratory waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth and timely processing of samples.
• Escalate discrepancies, errors, or sample-related issues to the concerned senior/technician.
• Adhere to laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards at all times.
• Support other laboratory activities as assigned by the reporting manager or senior team members.

Skills We Are Looking For

• Pursuing or recently completed DMLT, BMLT, B.Sc. MLT, or a relevant laboratory/medical laboratory science program.
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs accurately.
• Willingness to learn and work in a laboratory environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Responsible and disciplined approach to work.
• Ability to handle routine and repetitive laboratory tasks with accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety and sample handling is preferred.
• Prior internship or practical exposure in a diagnostic laboratory/hospital is an advantage.
