About Onebrief

Onebrief is collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. By transforming this work, Onebrief makes the staff as a whole superhuman - meaning faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $123m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $1.1B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the Role

As the Onebrief Corporate Development Lead, you will lead across the full deal lifecycle of identifying and helping to evaluate targets, pressure-testing thesis and synergies, coordinating due diligence, and transitioning those insights to functional leaders post-acquisition. The ideal candidate blends investment banking grade financial analysis with the operator’s mindset required to land real, measurable value after close.

About You

At Onebrief, your success will come from ownership, clarity, and collaboration. We seek those who take initiative and don’t wait for direction but actively identify what needs to be done and move it forward. Your demonstrated ability to clearly communicate is essential. We expect you to express ideas concisely, ask thoughtful questions, and provide context so others can build on your work and take action. Successful teammates are adaptable and open to feedback, seeing iteration based on learning as part of the process rather than a sign of failure.

In our team culture, we care deeply about outcomes and learning. People who thrive at Onebrief balance autonomy with alignment, they know when to make decisions independently and when to pull others in. They contribute to an atmosphere of trust, respect by being reliable, transparent, and generous with their knowledge. Above all, they take pride in doing great work together and in helping those around them succeed.

What You'll Do

Deal origination & evaluation

  • Maintain target pipeline; build and use quick-turn screeners and deep dives (market, competitive, product and talent synergy).

  • Own 3-statement models (DCF, comps, precedent transactions) and sensitivity/scenario analyses; translate outputs into crisp investment memos and Board materials.

  • Build and refine synergy cases (time to market of new features/products, talent acquisition, revenue, cost, capex/working capital), including bottom-up assumptions and risks.

  • Coordinate and track due diligence across functions (Product, Technology, Customer/GTM, Finance, HR/People, Tech/Product, Operations), external advisors, and drive Q&A closure and red-flag resolution.

Integration inputs planning

  • Map due diligence workstream outputs to post merger integration workstreams (Product, Technology, Customer/GTM, Finance, HR/People, Tech/Product, Operations).

  • Collaborate with others to transition due diligence findings to post merger integration teams to support their Day-1 readiness and Day-100 plans.

Governance & documentation

  • Maintain investment case, due diligence log, synergy tracker; ensure auditability and version control.

  • Help codify lessons learned to evolve the M&A playbook for future deals.

What We Look For

  • 1–3+ years in IB/PE/Transaction Services/Corp Dev/Strategy

  • Exposure to at least one live buy-side process (from IOI/LOI through close or integration).

  • Exceptional financial acumen, specifically mastery of Excel modeling (DCF, comps, LBO-style debt cases, synergy modeling), valuation methods, and scenario design

  • Strong accounting literacy (revenue recognition, purchase accounting basics).

  • Familiarity with IMO concepts (workstreams, Day-1/Day-100, KPI/benefits tracking, change-management).

  • Understanding of how due diligence impacts integration plans and measurable outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the following tools:

    • Market & financial: Capital IQ, PitchBook/FactSet/Bloomberg; company filings; industry datasets.

    • Modeling & BI: Excel/Google Sheets; PowerPoint/Slides

    • Deal/IMO ops: Virtual data rooms, project trackers (Notion)
