Engineering at Nirvana
The Nirvana engineering team works in close collaboration with our product and business teams to solve customer problems. As software engineers, we take pride in our craft and build for the long term while understanding that software is best built in a team setting.
Our stack primarily includes Golang, React, and Typescript, but here's the exciting part: don't worry if you're not familiar with Golang! We value enthusiasm, a passion for learning, and teamwork, so your willingness to grow with us is what truly matters.
Our team follows best-in-class software engineering practices and utilizes state-of-the-art open source tools to achieve our goals. It's not just about the languages you know; it's about the potential and dedication you bring to the table!
What you’ll do
As an intern at Nirvana, you will be mentored by one of our engineers (based in Chile, although as the company is distributed, you will get to interact with people from other countries such as the US and India) and get a chance to make a measurable impact in one or more of the following areas:
Safety
We are building a first-in-class data-driven safety platform. Leveraging telematics and violations data, we provide our customers with valuable insights to help them understand their data and become safer on the road. You’ll learn how data ingestion and processing work at scale and how all the pieces fit together to deliver a great experience.
Insured Experience
The team focuses on offering a world class experience to the customers after they have bind an insurance policy with Nirvana. Leverages multiple apps, AI and manipulation of data from multiple sources to help insureds with their claims, billing and audits; and internal users of Nirvana who helps Insureds. We are constantly experimenting with innovative solutions to help insureds interact with Nirvana, especially expediting claims submissions after incidents.
Pricing
Nirvana’s pricing is based on our proprietary rating model language, RateML. This in-house solution offers a user-friendly language for actuaries to create pricing models. The pricing team is responsible for delivering optimal pricing infrastructure to facilitate seamless integration with RateML. We empower teams, like Insurance Product, to develop and deploy pricing models, while also providing a straightforward interface for other teams (e.g. Underwriting) to execute specific models efficiently.
