About the role

As an Engineering Manager in the Data Infrastructure team at Nirvana, you will hold a central role in influencing the trajectory of our engineering teams and steering the triumphant delivery of our products within the US market by equipping our product teams with a robust platform through our Infrastructure Engineering Organization. Our driving force is to enable data-driven decisions and to design platforms that can handle substantial data scales efficiently. Guiding a team of skilled engineers, you will cultivate a culture marked by collaboration and innovation, collaborating closely with cross-functional units to ensure the flawless realization of projects.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of engineers, providing technical guidance, support, and career development.

  • Collaborate with the Leadership, Product Managers and other stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure systems.

  • Be responsible for the optimization of our data lake infrastructure, ensuring lightning-fast data delivery, minimal downtime, and maximum scalability.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in engineering practices.

  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile methodologies, optimizing processes for efficiency and productivity.

  • Champion best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.

  • Help us set up the best recruitment practices at Nirvana and onboard talented engineers in the team.

  • Manage performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address any challenges within the team.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with an experience of writing backend services in statically typed languages like Golang/Scala/Java/C++

  • You bring along 5+ years of hands-on engineering prowess, specializing in crafting expansive data infrastructure systems.

  • Over the past 2+ years, you've thrived as an Engineering Manager.

  • You've led Complex technical projects from conception to completion, redefining overarching objectives into tangible results.

  • User privacy is paramount to you. You've designed systems rooted in meticulous data governance standards, championing both privacy and security.

  • Your commitment to fostering team development shines through. You take pride in guiding engineers, elevating their expertise, and cultivating an environment of technical excellence.

  • You possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire & motivate a diverse team.
