🧑‍💻 The Role

We are looking for an innovative, visionary leader to redefine our approach to documentation at NewStore. As the Documentation Experience Manager, you’ll drive the future of technical content by empowering teams with the tools and guidance they need to create high-quality, user-focused documentation. You’ll leverage AI, automations, and other cutting edge technologies to streamline processes, enhance quality, and deliver next generation experiences for both internal teams and end users.


🚀 What You'll Do

  • Drive Innovation: Develop and execute a bold vision for documentation, using the latest AI, automation, and technical tools to enhance content experience and improve content creation efficiency.

  • Focus on User Experience: Champion a user-first approach to documentation, ensuring content is intuitive, accessible, and valuable for diverse audiences.

  • Leadership and Empowerment: Lead the documentation enablement team, setting clear goals and expectations. Drive a culture of empowerment by equipping internal stakeholders with the skills and tools they need to produce high-quality, consistent documentation.You define what a great documentation experience should be at NewStore.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Product Leadership and other department heads to further excel our documentation strategy to align with company objectives and support business growth.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, support, services and customer success teams to understand their documentation needs and challenges. Use insights to refine and optimize documentation processes so that they are seamlessly integrated into workflows and meet company objectives.

  • Product Approach: Treat Documentation as a Product, with a strong focus on user personas and their needs, including developers, business stakeholders, and partners. Understanding market trends, user needs with quick feedback loops, defining and continuously refining a strategy to keep NewStore's documentation ahead of competition.

  • Enablement Strategy: Oversee the creation and delivery of comprehensive education and enablement programs for documentation best practices and techniques. Ensure programs are scalable and adaptable to evolving documentation standards.

  • Data-Driven Improvements: Establish KPIs for documentation effectiveness and regularly assess performance against these metrics. Use data and feedback to drive continuous improvement in documentation processes and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Content Oversight and Quality Assurance: Provide guidance on multimedia content creation, including diagrams, animations, and videos, to ensure consistency and quality across all documentation. Maintain high standards by regularly reviewing documentation and suggesting improvements.

  • Hands-on Contribution: While focused on strategy and team leadership, be ready to contribute directly to documentation projects as needed, balancing management responsibilities with hands-on involvement.

Experience:
  • Team Management: at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Documentation: experience in writing and delivering customer-facing documentation.

  • Enablement Facilitation: Demonstrated ability to design and deliver documentation enablement programs that equip and empower diverse stakeholder groups with best practices and efficient tool usage.

Skills:
  • Strategic Alignment: Demonstrated experience in aligning documentation strategies with broader business objectives in SaaS or technology environments.

  • Feedback and Adaptability: Strong ability to gather, analyze, and leverage stakeholder feedback to optimize documentation processes.

  • Leadership: Excellent communication, mentoring, and team-building skills, with a focus on empowering others to excel in their documentation efforts.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with cutting-edge AI solutions, documentation platforms and tools including API documentation, that support content creation, organization, and accessibility for diverse audiences.

  • General Documentation Tools: Proficiency with industry-standard documentation platforms and tools used for content creation, organization, and publishing. Familiarity with tools for managing structured content and enhancing accessibility.

  • API Documentation: Hands-on experience creating and managing API documentation, including using tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, or similar platforms. Understanding of API concepts (e.g., REST, GraphQL) and how to effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical audiences.
