Associate Product Manager – Employee Experience

GAQ426R356

Location: San Francisco, CA or Mountain View, CA

About Databricks IT

At Databricks, our mission is to help data teams solve the world’s toughest problems and that starts with empowering our own employees.

The Databricks IT organization is a product-led team that builds intelligent, scalable systems to make every Brickster’s workday simpler, faster, and more connected. We’re reimagining how employees and managers interact with internal tools by designing a unified experience that brings together data, insights, and workflows across the company.

We’re looking for an Associate Product Specialist to support the delivery of our Employee Experience product, an internal platform that brings together employment-related workflows such as onboarding, performance, compensation, and engagement into one cohesive experience.

The Opportunity

Employees and managers at Databricks rely on many systems to manage their day-to-day work. This team is focused on simplifying that experience by building a connected product layer that sits on top of systems of record like Workday, helping users understand what they need to do and where to go, without unnecessary friction.

As an Associate Product Specialist, you’ll work closely with senior product managers, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver well-scoped features, support discovery and execution, and grow your product management skills in a highly collaborative environment.

This role is ideal for someone early in their product career who is eager to learn, take ownership of defined workstreams, and develop strong fundamentals in product thinking, execution, and stakeholder communication.

What You’ll Do

  • Support delivery of employee experience features by translating business needs into clear product requirements and user stories
  • Write PRDs for small, well-scoped initiatives and partner with engineering to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Participate in discovery by gathering requirements, documenting workflows, and learning how to define critical user journeys (CUJs)
  • Lead appropriately scoped meetings with business stakeholders, with guidance from your manager or senior PMs
  • Communicate status updates, risks, and decisions clearly to the team and stakeholders
  • Use available data and analytics to help prioritize work and measure feature success
  • Create basic product artifacts (presentations, docs, dashboards) with coaching and feedback

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, or relevant internship experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain business logic clearly
  • Ability to follow a defined process, manage scoped deliverables, and meet deadlines
  • Comfort working with data at a basic level — interpreting metrics, dashboards, or reports to inform decisions
  • Familiarity with common product tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, product roadmaps, bug tracking)
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and domains quickly
  • A collaborative mindset and interest in building strong working relationships across teams

Why You’ll Love This Role

This role offers hands-on experience building high-impact internal products that touch every employee at Databricks. You’ll learn directly from experienced product managers, gain exposure to real-world product challenges, and develop a strong foundation in product execution, stakeholder collaboration, and data-informed decision-making.

You’ll join a product-led, supportive IT organization that values learning, mentorship, and growth and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the future of how Databricks works.
