Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.
In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Role Purpose
The UK is one of Neko’s highest-priority markets. With a proven clinical model and a growing member base. We are at an exciting stage – transitioning from building to scaling, and from defining quality standards to embedding them across every site.
As Medical Director in the UK, you are the principal clinical authority for Neko’s UK operations. Accountable for clinical performance, governance, quality, team leadership, and the credibility of Neko’s clinical model. You will report to the Medical Director, Europe and work closely with the international medical leadership team.
You will have real authority, direct access to the clinical leadership team, and the mandate to build the clinical organisation. We are looking for someone who has already built, led, and held accountable for a clinical team. Who wants to do it again at a company with the ambition to make a real difference in preventive health.
What You’ll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
Clinical Leadership and Team Performance
Set and hold the clinical standard for UK operations across every site.
Lead, develop, and performance-manage the UK clinical leads.
Identify performance issues early and address them proactively.
Foster a culture of clinical excellence and accountability.
Partner closely with UK operational and clinical teams to ensure the two sides of the business move in the same direction without friction.
Clinical Governance and Quality
Own the UK clinical governance framework: policies, protocols, escalation pathways, incident review, and risk management, aligned to Neko’s global standards and UK regulatory requirements.
Own the UK quality composite score and drive it to benchmark.
Contribute actively to the global medical quality framework, bringing UK operational insight into shared standards and continuous improvement.
Define and track the clinical KPIs, using performance data to identify gaps, drive improvement, and hold the organisation to a consistently high standard.
Regulatory and Compliance Leadership
Hold and fulfil Neko’s statutory clinical responsibilities under UK law, including responsibilities relevant to CQC registration and the duties of the CQC Nominated Individual.
Maintain and build Neko’s relationship with the Care Quality Commission, MHRA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Ensure clinical documentation, consent frameworks, and protocols are current, compliant, and fit for purpose across all UK sites.
Lead the UK clinical response to any regulatory inspection.
Medical Community Engagement
Build and maintain Neko’s clinical credibility in the UK medical community. Be a respected voice on preventive health, early detection, and the clinical value of the Neko model.
Develop relationships with NHS, private sectors, corporate health partners, and referral networks.
Represent Neko at medical conferences, published commentary, and in broader dialogue on the future of preventive healthcare.
Minimum Requirements
Full registration with the GMC with a current license to practice.
Minimum 10 years of post-qualification clinical experience, including 3–5 years in a senior clinical leadership role with direct management of clinical teams.
Demonstrable track record of managing, developing, and performance-managing clinicians.
Strong knowledge of UK healthcare regulations.
A senior physician with a standing in the UK medical community.
A genuine belief in preventive medicine and early detection.
Fluency in English.
Preferred
Experience in technology-enabled, consumer-facing, or multi-site private healthcare environments.
Familiarity with UK private healthcare, occupational health, and corporate wellness markets.
Track record of external profile-building: published work, conference speaking, media engagement, or formal advisory roles in UK healthcare.
Experience at senior clinical level through significant organisational growth or transformation.
Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where structures are still being built.
