Mission

At Neko Health, our mission is to deliver proactive healthcare for all—empowering members to take control of their health through cutting-edge technology and compassionate care.

Neko Health is a Swedish healthcare technology company co-founded in 2018 by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek. Neko's vision is to shift healthcare from reactive treatment toward preventative health and early detection. This requires completely reimagining the patient's experience and incorporating the latest advances in sensors and AI.

Neko Health has developed a new medical scanning technology concept to make it possible to do broad and non-invasive health data collection that is convenient and affordable for the public. The company is based in Stockholm, offering the Neko Body Scan experience at locations in Stockholm, London and Manchester, with over 500 employees.

We’re building medical devices that enable large-scale, preventative healthcare. That means designing our own hardware, firmware, and software end-to-end — and running it in production, every day, in our clinics.

We’re now looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our Hardware & Firmware team in Stockholm.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working close to the metal, solving hard systems problems, and taking responsibility from early bring-up all the way to a deployed medical product.

What you’ll do

  • Develop embedded Linux firmware: bring-up, device drivers, platform features, and diagnostics

  • Work close to hardware with sensors such as cameras and radar units

  • Write efficient low-level code in C and C++

  • Debug and root-cause complex hardware and software issues

  • Optimize systems for performance, reliability, and resource efficiency

  • Collaborate with electronics, systems, and software teams from concept to production

  • Prototype, experiment, and tinker — we expect engineers to build and test, not just design

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience working with embedded systems

  • You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent practical experience)

  • You have extensive experience with embedded Linux development

  • You’re highly proficient in C and/or C++

  • You have deep knowledge of Linux internals (scheduler, memory management, concurrency, filesystems)

  • You care deeply about performance, stability, and correctness

  • You’re comfortable debugging in kernel context

  • You’re hands-on by default — you like building things and making them work

Nice to have

  • Experience with RTOS-based firmware development

  • Familiarity with electronics and hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)

  • Understanding of low-level communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, TCP/IP)

  • Experience with the CUDA toolkit

  • Background in medical devices or other regulated industries
