• Implement and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Sentinel monitoring, strengthening threat detection and response capabilities.

• Introduce and mature policy-as-code practices for infrastructure deployments, ensuring consistent and auditable security enforcement.

• Partner with engineering and DevOps teams to embed security into infrastructure-as-code and architecture design.

• Support cloud-related incident response and produce audit-ready evidence aligned to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Harden and secure Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, and databases.

• Configure and monitor Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel.

• Develop and enforce policy-as-code using Terraform and ARM templates.

• Conduct architecture reviews and threat modelling for cloud services.

• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed security into infrastructure-as-code.

• Support incident response and maintain audit-ready security documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Azure security services including Defender for Cloud and Sentinel.

• Strong understanding of identity and access management, least privilege, and identity protection.

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and HIPAA.

• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and ARM templates.

• Experience integrating SIEM/SOAR platforms and cloud monitoring solutions.

About the Engineering Team

Distributed and Remote First

Neko Health has nearly 100 full-time engineers working across Berlin, Chamonix, Hamburg, Lisbon, Marseille, Vilnius, and Stockholm, covering disciplines such as Hardware Engineering, Firmware Development, Electrical Design, Algorithm Development, Machine Learning, Optronics Research, and Software Engineering.

Our technology stack includes React, TypeScript, C++, Python, and C# with ASP.NET Core. We use Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Active Directory for authentication.

We are a Remote-First company, though some hardware and firmware roles require occasional access to physical devices. Software engineers in Stockholm typically visit the office once every one to two weeks. Teams meet in person a few times per year for collaboration and team building.

Organization and Way of Working

Engineering is structured into small, cross-functional teams aligned to specific goals. Some teams are long-lived while others are formed for targeted initiatives. Teams aim to operate autonomously while collaborating across the organization when needed.

Goals are tracked quarterly and annually, with bi-weekly organization-wide progress reviews. Teams typically plan on a bi-weekly cadence but retain flexibility in how they work.

All teams present progress, experiments, and learnings during bi-weekly engineering demos, covering topics ranging from hardware challenges and system calibration to new infrastructure, backend capabilities, and data visualization innovations that improve clinical productivity.

Neko Health promotes a flexible workplace focused on work-life balance. We are deeply committed to our mission while believing meaningful impact should not require sacrificing personal wellbeing.

About titles at Neko

We use a simplified internal title framework that prioritises clarity over hierarchy, so internal titles may differ from market‑facing role titles. Scope, impact and level of the role are fully aligned and will be clearly discussed throughout the process.
