The Opportunity

As Multiverse continues to grow, we are looking for a high-calibre Financial Controller to support the next phase of our scaling journey. This role is central to ensuring operational rigour, accurate reporting, and strong financial controls as we expand internationally.

You will lead the core financial operations team and be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, improving processes and controls, and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.

Crucially, you will also lead the charge in identifying and implementing AI-driven solutions that transform the finance function—enhancing accuracy, accelerating insight, and driving performance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Own the month-end and year-end close processes across all entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP and contribute to global reporting requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS) and local statutory requirements.

  • Lead the preparation for annual audits and manage the external audit process.

Controls & Governance

  • Strengthen and scale internal controls and finance processes, balancing rigour with flexibility.

  • Support the implementation and improvement of financial systems (e.g. NetSuite) and automation opportunities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and develop the core Finance Operations team, providing day-to-day leadership and coaching.

  • Support recruitment and onboarding as the team grows in line with international expansion.

About you

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent).

  • Experience in Tech, SaaS, or an AI-technology-driven scale-up.

  • Strong technical accounting skills, with experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements.

  • 5–8 years of experience in a Financial Controller or similar position, ideally within a scaling or international business.

  • Experience managing audits and statutory reporting in the UK, US and overseas. (IFRS & US GAAP standard)

  • Proficiency in financial systems (NetSuite ideal) and a passion for continuous improvement with particular focus on AI to drive productivity, efficiencies and automation at scale.

  • Clear communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach.

  • Comfortable in a high-growth, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.

  • Understanding of treasury, tax, or transfer pricing across international entities

  • Experience supporting systems implementation or finance transformation projects.
