Summary
As Head of Analytics Development, you will oversee the people, processes & technology that underpin Multiverse's internal analytics tools - including curated dashboards, self-service data platforms, AI-facilitated insights and automated user workflows. You will drive the development of analytics tools that empower every part of our business to make informed decisions.
This role sits within the Data & Insight team, reporting to the Director of Data Products, and is part of the Data & Insight leadership team. Success in this role requires user-centricity, pragmatism and innovation. You will balance technical expertise with people leadership - bringing hands-on technical capabilities when needed.
What you'll focus on:
Leadership & Management
Developing & implementing our strategy for leveraging analytics tools to drive decision making
Managing & developing our team of Analytics Developers
Building and maintaining our team through thoughtful recruitment & onboarding
Collaborating on leadership initiatives within the broader Data & Insight team and Tech organisation
Analytics Technology
Managing our analytics technology stack to maximise its return on investment
Establishing & implementing standardised approaches and processes for consistently leveraging our analytics tech stack
Continuously reviewing existing tooling, while also evaluating & implementing new technologies (including new AI-powered features) that enhance our analytics tool portfolio
Managing external technical partnerships and vendor relationships as needed
Innovation & Best Practice
Proactively identifying opportunities for innovation - both within the team and across the organisation
Establishing and encouraging a culture of continuous experimentation with new analytics features, tools and ways of working
Fostering knowledge sharing and skill development around analytics tool development - both within the organisation and across the wider data & analytics community
Democratisation of Analytics
Developing and maintaining a self-service platform that enables our entire organisation to maximise value from our data
Creating, maintaining and delivering organisation-wide upskilling and enablement that drives high quality adoption of our analytics tools
Nurturing a strong culture of data literacy and usage across the organisation
Ensuring that data governance, data privacy and information security best practice is embedded within all analytics tools and associated processes
What we’re looking for:
Required Experience & Skills
6+ years of relevant analytics tool development & management experience
3+ years of experience leading high-performing data teams
Demonstrable impact via analytics tool adoption
Success with implementing both curated dashboards and self-service data platforms
Hands-on expertise in Tableau
Solid working knowledge of SQL (ideally dbt)
Strong interest in emerging analytics trends (e.g. AI-powered tools & features)
History of delivering high quality results against important goals and timelines
Passion for developing and motivating teams of technical specialists
Pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset with ability to navigate challenges effectively
Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment (ideally a scale-up)
Strong attention to detail
