About the Role

We’re looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to support and execute against Captions’ end-to-end customer journey across our products. Our Lifecycle Marketing Manager will be hands-on building, launching, and optimizing campaigns across email, push, in-app, and SMS.

You’ll work closely with cross functional teams to bring lifecycle strategy to life, owning day-to-day campaign execution and performance optimization. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives “in the tools,” enjoys building and iterating quickly, and wants to directly impact activation, conversion, retention, and winback, while incorporating modern AI tools and workflows to operate efficiently and continuously improve campaign performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, launch, and manage lifecycle campaigns across email, push notifications, in-app messaging, and SMS

  • Execute against lifecycle programs spanning onboarding, activation, conversion, retention, and winback

  • Own campaign setup and QA in Iterable, including journeys, segmentation, and personalization

  • Monitor campaign performance and continuously optimize based on data and insights

  • Run A/B tests to improve key subscription metrics such as trial conversion, churn, and reactivation

  • Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure accurate targeting, tracking, and experimentation

  • Collaborate with creative to develop compelling messaging and iterate on copy and UX

  • Maintain campaign documentation, workflows, and operational best practices

  • Use AI tools to accelerate campaign production, copywriting, and testing workflows

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing at a software company or subscription business

  • Strong hands-on experience building campaigns in Iterable (or similar platforms like Braze, Customer.io, etc.)

  • Proven ability to execute and optimize cross-channel lifecycle campaigns

  • Solid understanding of core subscription metrics (conversion, retention, churn, LTV) and how lifecycle impacts them

  • Detail-oriented with strong QA instincts and operational rigor

  • Analytical mindset with experience reading performance data and making data-driven optimizations

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on mobile-first products (iOS/Android)

  • Familiarity with analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar

  • Exposure to experimentation frameworks and incrementality testing

  • Interest in AI tools for marketing workflows and content creation

  • Understanding of the creator economy or content creation tools

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans

  • 401K with employer match

  • Commuter Benefits

  • Catered lunch multiple days per week

  • Dinner stipend every night if you're working late and want a bite!

  • Grubhub subscription

  • Health & Wellness Perks

  • Multiple team offsites per year with team events every month

  • Generous PTO policy
