The company is looking for a Payroll & 401(k) Specialist.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll & 401(k) Specialist to join our corporate accounting team. This strategic role combines payroll management and 401(k) administration, directly impacting employee satisfaction and financial operations. Reporting to the V.P. of Finance & Operations, the successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processes and 401(k) activities for our growing workforce, while collaborating closely with our People & Culture, and Finance teams. This position offers opportunity for professional growth as our organization continues to expand.
What You Will Do:
Payroll Operations
- Process semi-monthly payroll cycles including calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Review and validate all payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation according to retention requirements.
- Manage garnishments, levies, and other wage attachments.
- Coordinate with People & Culture and Finance teams on employee data management and updates.
- Lead year-end processes including preparation for W-2 and ACA reporting.
401(k) Operations
- Process 401(k) contributions, loan payments, and distributions.
- Perform regular account reconciliations and prepare financial reports.
- Monitor compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party administrators and investment providers.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding plan benefits and account status.
General Accounting Support
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements and system optimizations within payroll and our 401(k) third party administrator.
Your Skills and Experience:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–3 years of payroll processing experience, ideally in a high-growth environment.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience administering 401(k) plans.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, Rippling, Paycom, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Carta is a plus.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct) is beneficial but not required.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, ERISA compliance, and reporting requirements.

- The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

MinIO determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
