At Meter, we’re rebuilding networking from the ground up (hardware, software, and operations) so that enterprises can finally have networks that are fast, secure, reliable, and evolve without friction. Workplace Operations plays a critical role in bringing that mission to life by creating an environment where our people can do their best work every day.

This role is all about creating seamless workplace experiences—ensuring our spaces run smoothly, feel inspiring, and reflect Meter’s culture of kindness and ambition.

You’ll be the go-to person who keeps our operations humming: from managing day-to-day office logistics and vendor relationships to organizing team events. If you love problem-solving, thrive in dynamic environments, and get excited about creating thoughtful spaces that empower people to do their best work, you’ll feel right at home here.

This is a fully in-office role, based in our San Francisco office, serving as a consistent on-site presence for employees and guests.

What your day will look like

You will spend much of your day at reception, being the first point of contact for guests, employees, prospects and customers. Your warm and kind presence will set the tone for every person who enters our office. At the same time, you’ll play a key role in continuously improving the day-to-day experience of the Meter office.

  • Serving as the first point of contact at reception for guests, employees, prospects, and customers—setting a warm, welcoming tone for everyone who enters the office

  • Overseeing day-to-day office operations, including coordinating soft services, supporting our food program, and ensuring the space is always functional and ready to use

  • Identifying and solving real-time issues in the physical office quickly and thoughtfully

  • Owning small- to medium-sized internal events and collaborating cross-functionally on larger, external events

  • Identifying and implementing incremental improvements to enhance the overall office experience over time

What success looks like

  • The office experience is consistently improving—not just maintained—because issues are anticipated and addressed before they’re raised

  • Office events are well-run, inclusive, and something team members genuinely look forward to

  • Employees are proud of the space and excited to bring in guests

  • New hires have seamless, welcoming first-day experiences

  • The workplace “just works,” allowing employees to focus on their work—not the logistics behind it

Who you are

  • You embody our culture of kindness and ambition and take pride in creating environments where people feel welcomed and supported

  • You’re proactive, organized, and excited to grow by taking on projects beyond your core responsibilities

  • You collaborate well across teams and communicate clearly in both writing and in person

  • You bring empathy, humility, and self awareness to your work, and you’re comfortable operating in ambiguity

  • You care about getting the details right and making sure things are done well

Why Meter?

The internet runs the world. Every email you send, purchase you make, video call you join—it’s all packets flowing through networks. But those networks haven’t changed for decades. They’re brittle, complex, and surprisingly hard to set up in an enterprise space.

We started Meter to build better networks. We had to build everything from the ground-up: designing and building our own enterprise hardware, intuitive software, and streamlined operations to deliver great outcomes for our customers. Today, we build and deploy these networks at scale. Ambitious companies and enduring institutions like Bridgewater, Lyft, Reddit, rely on Meter to keep their thousands of employees and locations online and productive.

Our bet with Meter is simple: we will all use the internet more than we do today. We believe we have the definitive networking stack in place to enable business to do so as seamlessly and reliably as any modern utility.

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive team and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you’re a California resident, you can learn more about how we handle applicant data here.
