Senior Anti-Money Laundering Analyst

As an AML analyst, you will work closely with product, operations, and business to develop Melio’s AML controls. You will have a unique opportunity to help develop our AML program from its early stages, creating products with significant company-wide impact.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a regulated financial services environment
  • Working with Product, Engineering, and Operations on a review of controls related to the effectiveness of the AML program
  • Guiding Operations on implementing controls based on policy
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal clients at all levels, and work within cross-functional teams to develop solutions for both compliance and business issues
  • Detail-oriented combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
  • High level English proficiency
  • Previous experience in AML or financial crimes analysis, preferably in the Fintech industry
  • Technology savvy with ability to quickly learn new systems and tools, and to identify anomalies or opportunities for improvements

Bonus points:

  • Direct exposure to B2B payments within the financial services industry
  • Previous experience in a FinTech environment
  • SQL experience is a strong plus

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:

  • Work with the Head of AML on reviewing policies, procedures and various controls related to Melio’s Anti Money Laundering efforts
  • Assist in creating and maintaining documentation of the company’s internal Financial Crimes compliance controls (KYC, TMS, Sanctions)
  • Support in designing and monitoring various Financial Crime dashboards
  • Lead the design and fine tuning of suspicious activity monitoring rulesets
  • Develop actionable Financial Crime intelligence to inform senior management
  • Stay abreast of emerging Financial Crime trends that may affect the company or its customers (finCEN regulatory notices, etc.)

About the Hiring Department:

The Risk & Compliance department protects Melio’s platform and reputation from bad actors.
The department is in charge of implementing controls to protect Melio.
We identify risks that may arise and advise on how to avoid or address them. We also ensure that all users on the platform, and their activities, are compliant.
We’re like that extra coat of armor for the company, making sure Melio is protected from fraudulent and abusive activity.
