The Role
Medely is looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager, Accounting to lead the daily operations of our accounting, payroll, and procurement functions. You'll own the month-end close process, ensure GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Reporting to the VP of Financial Operations, you’ll lead a talented team of four and play a key role in shaping our financial foundation as we grow. The Impact You’ll Make
Accounting Operations & Compliance
Own general ledger reporting, including revenue recognition, accounts receivable, payroll & payables, and month-end close processes.
Own income tax and sales/use tax compliance; partner with our 3rd party tax advisors.
Oversee corporate payroll for a ~30-state, fully remote workforce.
Coordinate closely with other financial operations teams (billing, accounts receivable, and treasury/payments) to ensure accurate working capital reporting.
Partner with FP&A, IT, Legal, and other departments to facilitate the corporate procurement process.
Partner with Product/Engineering to properly capitalize internally developed software and account for upcoming product releases/new revenue streams.
Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standards to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Financial Reporting
Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to deliver accurate and timely financial statements.
Ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
Partner with FP&A to support management reporting and business insights.
Own the annual audit and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors. We’ve previously completed several annual audits by a Big 4 firm.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of two accountants, an AP specialist, and a payroll analyst, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.
Process Improvement & Systems
Drive process enhancements, system improvements, and automation across accounting workflows to optimize efficiency and effectiveness, supporting company growth and scalability.

Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
Proficiency with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Numeric, FloQast, Rippling, Paylocity, Airbase, Coupa, Concur, or Avalara/Vertex, with some experience in systems integration

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
