Intern Role: We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented life-science focused college student who is motivated by the goal of improving the lives of patients through research, discovery and teamwork. The intern will be focused on supporting Maze’s growing clinical pipeline. This internship will involve projects that will be supplemented with regular discussions with key development functional leaders from regulatory affairs, clinical operations, clinical science, translational biology, project management, chemistry & manufacturing, and quality to ensure cross-functional success.
The summer intern will be overseen by the Clinical Operations team.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Develop understanding for overall drug development lifecycle, including candidate evaluation and selection, planning and execution of clinical trials, to commercialization of a drug asset
- Provide general support to the Clinical Development team in the planning, management and implementation of clinical studies
- Participate in clinical trial start-up activities, i.e., create and maintain study trackers and dashboards, document collection and review, and provide support for project-related meetings
- Assist in strategic project initiatives evaluating different aspects of clinical trial development such as implementing decentralized clinical trial strategies, building key relationships with patient advocacy groups, and researching other molecule competitors/review competitive landscape
- Conduct a final independent research project with guidance from mentor and presenting findings to the Clinical Development team
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university, preferably pursing a degree in a science-related field or has a strong interest in life sciences, behavioral sciences, and/or public health
- Interest in the biotech industry, specifically a small, fast-paced start-up environment
- Self-motivated, resourceful, able to perform independent research and present findings
- Experience with basic Microsoft suite platforms such PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Team player, able to learn new skills and take on additional tasks as they arise
- Willing to work in a hybrid environment and be onsite approximately 3 days a week
PAY RATE
$27.50/hr
LOCATION
171 Oyster Point Boulevard, Suite 300, South San Francisco.
Interns in the Oyster Point 101 area have free access to the Genentech gRide buses that serve the Millbrae Caltrain and Glen Park BART stations.
REMOTE-WORK
This is not remote work. This is a hybrid role where the intern will be required to be In office 3 days a week.
