Maven is looking for a Manager, Revenue Operations (Deal Desk). Reporting to the Head of Revenue Operations (with a dotted line to the Strategic Finance organization), you will have responsibility for overseeing the strategy, analytics and operations that go into deal pricing, sales commissions and other sales-related functions. This position will partner closely with Growth and Strategic Finance to help accelerate sales and scale the business in an enduring way.

The ideal candidate has great analytical skills and business acumen, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, potentially starting their career in management consulting or investment banking. You can build complex models, and distill complicated mathematical concepts so they are easily understood. You can think about the “big picture” as it relates to sales and commissions strategy, while also rolling up your sleeves to run the model and build supporting communication. You enjoy the rapidly evolving nature of start-up life and are always looking for more efficient ways to do things.

As a Revenue Operations Manager, you will:

  • Analyze and structure complex deals, working closely with Growth, Strategic Finance and Accounting leaders to ensure deal pricing is competitive while maintaining profitability targets
  • Oversee the operational components of deal desk, ensuring SLAs are met; collaborate cross-functionally and identify bottlenecks to ensure deals don’t stall
  • Subject matter expert to Growth in pricing structure and margin guidance, including creating sales materials (memos and/or slides) to support pricing and deal terms
  • Own and manage the pricing calculator used by the sales team, keeping it up to date based on market dynamics and internal priorities while maximizing self-service capabilities
  • Develop and manage appropriate systems and processes for QA of deals prior to movement to Closed Won
  • Create and participate in training the Growth organization on the pricing and deal desk processes and approvals
  • Partner with Growth and Finance on sales commission strategy to set sales goals that meet company objectives
  • Build the commission strategy to scale, including goal setting, tracking, and quantifying payouts
  • Present deal recommendations and commissions plans to executive audiences
  • Work on ad-hoc Growth and Revenue Operations-related projects

Qualifications:

  • Foundational experience at a management consulting or investment banking; highly skilled at Excel, Google Sheets and Google Slides
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen; experience using quantitative and qualitative data to provide realistic recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with and influence sales and finance leaders
  • Adept at problem solving and proposing practical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Operates with a strong sense of urgency, energy and enthusiasm. Leads with a passion to fulfill the shared mission and vision of the organization. Effective in a very fast-paced environment.
  • (Preferred) Experience with Salesforce and ASC 606 knowledge
  • (Preferred) 3+ years of relevant professional experience in deal desk, commercial processes, contract or order form management

For candidates in NYC, CO, or CA, the base salary range for this role is $130,000-$160,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
