About Luma AI

Luma’s mission is to build multimodal AI to expand human imagination and capabilities. We believe that multimodality is critical for intelligence. To go beyond language models and build more aware, capable, and useful systems, the next step function change will come from vision. So we are working on training and scaling up multimodal foundation models for systems that can see and understand, show and explain, and eventually interact with our world to effect change.
Where You Come In
This is a call to the go-to-market pioneers.
We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead and scale the product marketing function and write the playbook for the next creative frontier. This is a rare opportunity to define a new market category while also building and leading a high-performing PMM team. You will not be running a playbook. You will be architecting it, and scaling it.

What You’ll Do

This is a 0-to-1 leadership role focused on building from scratch and scaling with the business. You will be the strategic force multiplier who transforms our technological breakthroughs into indispensable tools for the global creative ecosystem.
  • Architect the foundational go-to-market strategy, positioning, packaging, pricing, and messaging for Luma’s products.
  • Own and lead the launch of new products and capabilities, crafting campaigns that resonate with creative, technical, and enterprise audiences.
  • Define and evolve our enterprise and studio GTM motion, building the narrative and sales enablement materials to pioneer strategic partnerships.
  • Hire, lead, and scale a high-performing product marketing team, setting a high bar for craft, velocity, and impact.
  • Collaborate deeply with Product, Research, Design, Sales, and Growth teams, acting as the voice of the market to shape the product roadmap.
  • Build a deep understanding of our users and the market to identify new opportunities and further establish Luma as a category-defining company.
  • Execute with speed and ownership in a high-velocity, ambiguous environment where impact is the primary metric.
  • Craft and steward the story that launches a global movement, establishing Luma as the heart of the next generation of visual effects and content creation.

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, with a track record of launching new, innovative products.
  • Proven experience leading, scaling, and developing successful product marketing teams.
  • A demonstrated builder and market maker with a history of driving tangible, high-impact results in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
  • Extensive experience building GTM strategies from scratch and scaling them as the business grows.
  • Impeccable taste and a high bar for craft, with deep understanding of how to market to creative, developer, or prosumer audiences.
  • A first-principles thinker who navigates ambiguity with high agency and autonomy.
  • A genuine passion for the creative potential of AI and Luma’s mission to expand human imagination.

What Sets You Apart (Bonus Points)

  • Experience at a category-defining, product-led company (for example Figma, Notion, Stripe) or a leader in creative AI (for example Runway, Adobe).
  • Training at a top-tier PMM program followed by successful experience in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Founder experience or experience as an early GTM leader who has built and scaled teams.
  • Direct experience marketing to enterprise and studio clients in creative or media industries.
  • Strong empathy for creative professionals such as filmmakers, creators, or agencies, gained through direct experience working with or alongside them.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is $175,000 – $265,000 per year.
