We're in search of a mid-level Backend Engineer skilled at Ruby on Rails to join us on our mission to build a borderless world. In this role, you'll turn complex ideas into streamlined, efficient global mobility solutions. You'll be at the forefront of driving our product roadmap, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our development process. If you're passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and thrive in a collaborative, remote work environment, we want to hear from you!

🙌 About The Team

Join a close-knit team of frontend and backend engineers, engineering managers, product managers, designers, and UX researchers. Our remote collaboration spans multiple time zones, facilitated by tools like Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, and the Google suite. We value transparency, respect, and a shared dedication to simplifying our customers' lives, whether they're HR managers, case managers, or employees undergoing life-changing relocations.

👾 About Our Technology

We serve our customers through a web app built with React, TypeScript, Webpack, NextJS, and other technologies, which communicates with a REST API built with Ruby on Rails, Postgres, and Redis. We use GitHub for version control and code reviews, Semaphore and Github Actions for CI/CD, Rollbar for production error tracking, and rely on Heroku for infrastructure management.

👩‍💻 What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and implement backend solutions that drive our product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end engineers, product managers, and designers, to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Identify and prioritise product enhancements that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives, ultimately driving business value.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that follows industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure top-notch quality and provide constructive feedback to your peers.
  • Continuously contribute to improving our development process.
