Summary of Position

As a member of the Vulnerability Remediation team, the Vulnerability Remediation Engineer III shares responsibility for the day-to-day support and development of the Teladoc Global Infrastructure environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Automation

  • Utilize automation technologies for repeatable tasks.
    • Software Deployment (Kace, Kaseya, Ansible, Patch Manager)
    • Automated scripting tasks (PowerShell, Bash)

Documentation

  • Create and maintain departmental documentation:
    • Technical Runbooks & Procedures
    • Evaluate current departmental policies and procedures. Update and add new policies where needed.

Vulnerability Remediation

  • Utilize KACE SMA to create, deploy, and automate software and scripting distribution packages for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Utilize Patch Manager to deploy and distribute patches to Windows and Linux servers
  • Utilize Qualys to assess the vulnerability status of the assets across the enterprise.
  • Utilize Jenkins to maintain and execute coordinated tasks for Vulnerability Remediation.
  • Handle and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of sensitive information.
  • GitHub
    • Create repositories and branches as needed
    • Make and commit changes to already created repositories
  • Linux
    • Installation, management, and administration of systems (CentOS, Debian, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux)
      • Patch Management and security vulnerabilities remediation tasks.
      • Scripting
      • Various technologies – LDAP, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes etc.
  • Support
    • Provide off-hours support when necessary.
    • Daily administrative tasks and duties.
    • Knowledge of networking operations.
    • Critical System Monitoring – Experience with PRTG and LogicMonitor
  • VMware
    • ESXI 6.x-7.x
    • vCenter
  • General
    • Adhere to project plans for infrastructure-related projects.
    • Assist with project implementation.
    • Work with technical team leaders and management within the Vulnerability Remediation department to ensure projects are communicated properly and completed on time.
    • Train team members on various products, services, and technologies.
    • Assist with technical initiatives in a team-focused environment.
    • General ticket, task, and project-related work.
    • Engage vendor tech support when required.
    • Experience working in a 24x7 global environment, with colleagues in many different time zones.

The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred and/or 4+ years of experience in Information Systems.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux and/or Windows Systems Administrator.
  • Cloud experience (Amazon Web Services, Azure or similar)
  • Security patching operating systems and software for Windows and Linux.

Qualifications Preferred for Position

    • Experience with Azure Cloud is preferred
    • Experience with monitoring systems (Logic Monitor, PRTG or similar)
    • Quest KACE Systems Management Appliance (KACE SMA)
    • Manage Engine Patch Manager
    • Qualys Cloud Platform
    • Kaseya VSA
    • VMware 6.x -7.x Infrastructure administration and operation
