Summary of Position

The Vice President of Pricing and VBC, USGH will be focused on working across Teladoc’s US Group Health (USGH) organization partnering with field teams (Sales, Client Management, Partnerships), to develop deal structures including pricing/packaging and performance guarantees which will include constructing, delivering, and negotiating proposals to the market. You will be part of a dynamic, innovative organization that is the leader in delivering virtual care solutions to US Employers and Health Plans, and their members. In this role, you will provide insight and clarity on our pricing models, the value our clients can expect to see from our solutions, ROI analyses, and drive risk-based pricing deals. Within Teladoc, you’ll create the strategy and partner with Value Based Care, Finance, Product and Clinical Analytics to help develop, test, and refine pricing and deal structures, showcasing the value of our suite of solutions to the market. Additionally, the VP will be responsible for collecting and communicating voice of the Market and Client with respect to value for internal Product and Clinical teams, to shape product portfolio development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The primary function of the VP of Pricing and VBC is to work with individual field reps and commercial leadership to create, present, explain, refine deal structures, pricing, fees at risk, and ROI proposals to prospective clients.

  • This role is a resource and trusted internal expert on our pricing methodology, constraints, and flexibility across the full suite of products for our field teams.

  • The VP will work with these teams on deal strategy, Deal Desk preparation and presentations and partner as needed with the field teams to engage directly with clients and partners to present and explain deal structure.

  • Candidates should be well versed in ROI methodology and VOI approach to provide client savvy expertise in the field and serve as a subject matter expert for field teams.

  • Collaborating with Finance, Product, Clinical Analytics, Value Based Care, and other key internal stakeholders, you will evolve our fees at risk and ROI/VOI models and will serve as a key spokesperson for all of USGH in those discussions.

  • The VP will work to influence varying types of risk arrangements and work closely with Value Based Care to ensure that deal structures reflect and incorporate the requirements put forth by that team around methodology, data exchange, and other structural elements, while meeting market needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience at a leading healthcare organization, such as a Health Plan or Benefit Consultant in a Product/Pricing/Analytical/Network role, or at a vendor selling to health plans in a role similar to the above.

  • 8+ years of experience in creating and negotiating risk-based contracts with Health Plans, either as a vendor/consultative partner or as part of the Health Plan team.

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams, either directly or in a matrixed environment with the ability to think strategically, develop the vision, and execute for results.

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications

  • MBA or other similar advanced degree highly valued

  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare economics, value-based care, population health, and trend, and experience designing or evaluating performance of products

  • Deep understanding of how Buyers buy and what Clients value within the broader Healthcare space, specifically around Digital/Virtual care

  • Comfort and experience in customer facing interactions.

  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and influence peers who are not in your reporting structure, with a focus on the ability to collaborate with financial and clinical analytics teams.

  • Demonstrated capacity to innovate and drive large organizational change in a complex, fast-paced environment with to changing priorities and ambiguity.

  • High energy and passion for making an impact in health care and on people’s lives.

The base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $256,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2024. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
