POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Network Engineering, leads a team of network engineers who manage all things related to Teladoc Health’s network infrastructure. The Senior Manager is responsible for all cloud, data center and office location network reliability.

The Senior Manager, Network Engineering, has a deep understanding of networking protocols and a broad range of network vendors. This knowledge will be used to support the team of Network Engineers who deliver exceptional service to our internal and external customers. The Senior Manager will also collaborate with other engineering teams to help them deliver scalable and reliable services to our external customers.

WORK YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers. Encourage and empower the team members to be effective and engaged.

  • Develop, evolve, and deliver an ambitious infrastructure project roadmap, thinking strategically about scale, performance, and architecture.

  • Manage project milestones, progress, and issues.

  • Drive best engineering practices and agility in the teams.

  • Provide technical leadership for operational and business strategy.

  • Manage the department's operational budget.

  • Manage vendors responsible for network software, hardware and data centers.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support network-related projects and initiatives.

  • Incident Response: Respond to network incidents and outages, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years experience working in network engineering.

  • 3+ years leading a team of network engineers.

  • 3+ years working in Azure or AWS network environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree with applicable major or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, and/or education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Department level experience managing annual budgets and roadmap planning

  • Experience with vendor management

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code (Github, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible)

  • Expertise with Juniper routers, Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls, Arista switches, and Radware/Alteon application delivery controllers

  • Expertise in all layers of the OSI model and fundamental networking protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, BGP, OSPF, HTTP, SSH, SNMP, NTP, etc.)

  • Ability and willingness to keep current with all modern and upcoming applicable technologies.
