Fortinet is an equal opportunity employer. This is a presales role: the Systems Engineer will support sales cycles, technical validation and solution positioning for Fortinet's SOC portfolio, backed by deep, hands-on SOC expertise. The role is the technical anchor between Fortinet and the Security Operations Center (SOC) of our regional Telco accounts. The SOC is the point where every managed cybersecurity offer is validated before it reaches the Telco's end customers. This Systems Engineer will be recognized as a peer by Telco SOC analysts, will accelerate the validation of Fortinet solutions (FortiAnalyzer, FortiSOC, SOCaaS and the broader security portfolio), and will help Telcos evolve and monetize their own SOC as a service to their end customers. Previous hands-on experience with Service Providers or Telcos is highly desirable, but not exclusionary.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a presales, solutions engineering or technical sales role within cybersecurity.

  • 5+ years of direct, SOC background: incident validation, escalation, analyst workflows, and solution homologation.

  • Previous experience working with Service Providers, Telcos or MSSPs (as employee, partner or vendor) is highly desirable, but not a hard requirement.

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of SOC-related technologies: SIEM, SOAR, EDR/NDR, threat analytics and incident response platforms.

  • Familiarity with FortiAnalyzer, FortiSIEM, FortiSOAR, FortiEDR, FortiNDR or equivalent solutions from other vendors.

  • Understanding of API integrations, automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform or similar) to connect SOC platforms with self-service portals.

  • Working knowledge of AI-driven security analytics and how they apply to incident detection and response.

  • Solid understanding of network security fundamentals: Firewall/VPN, IPS/IDS, authentication and encryption protocols (IPSec, SSL, AES, SHA).

  • Fortinet product certifications are a plus.

Soft Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written) - required.

  • Portuguese is a strong plus.

  • Comfortable owning the full presales cycle: discovery, technical demo, proof-of-value, proposal support and closing technical objections.

  • Ability to build credibility and trust directly with technical SOC analysts, not only with commercial stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently across multiple accounts and countries without direct supervision.

  • Excellent presentation skills, able to engage audiences from SOC analyst level to C-level.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-country, matrixed environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to travel across LATAM as needed to support regional Telco accounts.

Presales & Sales Cycle Support

  • Support sales cycles through technical presentations, demos and proof-of-value sessions focused on SOC use cases.

  • Assist Sales and pre-sales teams in responding to RFPs/RFIs involving SOC, SIEM/SOAR or managed security services requirements.

  • Build and deliver competitive positioning material showing Fortinet's SOC advantages versus PANW, Cato, Zscaler and other vendors.

  • Support solution sizing and technical proposal creation together with sales counterparts.

SOC Technical Advisory

  • Act as the recognized technical trusted advisor for SOC matters, engaging peer-to-peer with Telco SOC analysts and architects.

  • Understand and speak the internal language of the Telco SOC: its validation processes, escalation flows, and operational requirements for accepting new solutions into commercial offers.

  • Support the Telco through the internal homologation and validation process required before any managed cybersecurity offer can reach their end customers.

SOC Solution Development & Monetization

  • Drive adoption of FortiAnalyzer, FortiSOC and SOCaaS within Telco SOC environments.

  • Help Telcos design offers that monetize their own SOC as a sellable service to their end customers, rather than treating it purely as an internal cost center.

  • Support the Telco's shift from reselling standalone products to delivering managed services, strengthening our competitive position against PANW, Cato, Zscaler and other vendors.

AI-Driven Integration & Automation

  • Design and support API-driven integrations between Fortinet solutions and the Telco's self-service portals and internal tooling.

  • Apply AI-driven analysis approaches to help Telco SOCs improve incident response time and reduce analyst workload.

  • Support Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and automated deployment models for Fortinet solutions within Telco environments.

Cross-Account Best Practice & Enablement

  • Connect learnings and best practices across all 7 regional Telco accounts (America Movil, Millicom, Liberty, Cirion, IFX, Entel and GTD) and their multiple country operations.

  • Partner closely with the GAMs and SEs already dedicated to each account, complementing their work with deep, hands-on SOC expertise.

  • Execute regional SecOps strategy in coordination with sales, pre-sales, product and operations teams.

Enablement, Documentation & Representation

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, playbooks and presentations that help Telcos and internal teams understand SOC integration paths.

  • Represent Fortinet in technical discussions, workshops and events focused on Telco and Service Provider cybersecurity operations.

Stay current on SOC, SIEM/SOAR and managed security services trends across the industry.
