About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our FortiWeb team, responsible for developing and maintaining the web-based management interface of our industry-leading Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution. This role requires expertise in modern Angular/React development combined with experience migrating legacy enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the migration strategy from legacy frameworks to modern Angular 21+ and React 18+

  • Design and implement micro-frontend architecture for multiple sub-applications

  • Build scalable, observable state management solutions using RxJS and MobX/Redux

  • Establish frontend best practices and architectural patterns for the engineering team

  • Collaborate with backend teams to define API contracts and integration patterns

  • Work with UX/UI teams to implement enterprise design systems

  • Partner with DevOps to optimize CI/CD pipelines and build performance

  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

  • 8+ years of professional frontend development experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (v14+) / React and TypeScript

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale application modernization projects

  • Hands-on experience with micro-frontend frameworks

  • Understanding of application isolation, state sharing, and routing coordination

Enterprise Application Patterns:

  • Permission-based routing and role-based access control (RBAC)

  • HTTP interceptor chains for cross-cutting concerns

  • Multi-tenant architectures

Security & Performance:

  • CSRF/XSS prevention implementation

  • Bundle splitting and lazy loading strategies

  • Memory optimization for large-scale applications

Preferred Qualifications

Domain Knowledge

  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) or cybersecurity product experience

  • Network security infrastructure management interfaces

  • ToB/Enterprise admin interface design patterns

Additional Technical Skills

  • Enterprise design systems (Material UI, etc.)

  • Data visualization libraries (D3.js)

  • CI/CD pipeline configuration

  • Container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)

Leadership

  • Open source contributions

  • Technical blog posts or conference speaking experience

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000-$183,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors, including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program. Bonus eligibility is reviewed at the time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
