The MIS Datacenter Operations Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, deployment, and lifecycle management of datacenter infrastructure across EMEA. This role ensures high availability, reliability, and performance of compute, network, and facility systems supporting critical cybersecurity platforms.

The position bridges IT operations, field engineering, project management, and datacenter facilities, requiring a hands-on, detail-oriented professional capable of operating in high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage daily datacenter operations, including incidents, changes, and ongoing projects across EMEA.

  • Support multi-vendor datacenter network environments by handling alerts, alarms, and incident tickets.

  • Perform root cause analysis and technical investigations for infrastructure issues.

  • Manage incident and service request lifecycle via ITSM tools in coordination with global teams.

  • Coordinate and oversee deployment of cloud and on-premise infrastructure across datacenters.

  • Review and validate deployment prerequisites including:

    • Rack layouts

    • Network/system diagrams

    • Cabling plans

    • Deployment documentation

  • Perform hands-on activities such as racking, stacking, cabling, and hardware initialization.

  • Manage logistics and delivery of datacenter hardware across locations.

  • Handle decommissioning, sanitization, and secure disposal of equipment.

  • Maintain DCIM systems and asset lifecycle records.

  • Coordinate with datacenter and colocation providers to ensure uptime and maintenance compliance.

  • Monitor change schedules and correlate incidents to ongoing activities.

  • Escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution.

  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and reports.

Skills and Attributes Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in datacenter operations, infrastructure engineering, or related fields.

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

    • Servers and storage systems

    • Networking equipment (switches, routers)

  • Structured cabling (MMF, SMF)

  • Knowledge of datacenter power and facilities systems:

    • UPS, PDUs, transformers, generators, switchgear

  • Familiarity with operating systems and automation:

    • Linux, Windows

    • Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)

  • Experience with ITSM/DCIM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).

  • Understanding hardware lifecycle management and asset tracking.

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and operate under pressure in mission-critical environments.

  • Knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals.

  • Experience handling outages and maintaining SLA/KPI targets.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • This position requires good writing and oral English abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
  • Experience with Fortinet products and security infrastructure
  • Knowledge of:
    • Virtualization (VMware, Red Hat)
    • Cloud infrastructure
    • Disaster recovery and fault tolerance
    • Software-defined networking/storage
  • Confidence with data center hardware infrastructure, including Dell, HPE, Cisco, and Arista platforms, as well as console terminals, SNMP protocols, and fiber optic communications.
  • Project management exposure in datacenter environments
