Fortinet has an exciting internship opportunity for you to join our Consulting Systems Engineering team and contribute to the development of a Sovereign Generative AI infrastructure lab in Sophia Antipolis. Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience building and experimenting with modern Generative AI environments while working alongside cybersecurity experts. You will also benefit from mentorship, practical training, and exposure to real-world enterprise architectures that combine AI innovation with cybersecurity best practices.
This internship aims to accelerate the development of tools and applications on a dedicated GenAI lab environment. The objective is to build a realistic, end-to-end Generative AI ecosystem that reflects how enterprises are deploying AI today, including prompt-based user interfaces, MCP servers, AI agents, LLM serving components, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) infrastructure. Your work will help create practical environments that support demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept activities while enabling the Consulting Systems Engineering team to remain focused on the lab’s core AI infrastructure and Fortinet product integration.
As part of this internship, you will also design and develop several GenAI-enabled applications that simulate common enterprise use cases across domains such as Finance, Sales, HR, and IT. These applications will be intentionally designed as targets for simulated attacks and misuse scenarios against AI systems. This approach will allow the team to demonstrate real-world risks such as data leakage, prompt manipulation, and infrastructure exposure. The environments created during this project will help showcase how Fortinet cybersecurity solutions can protect modern AI workloads across containers, Kubernetes environments, APIs, and network layers.
The outputs of this internship will be directly leveraged by the Consulting Systems Engineering team for demonstrations, workshops, proofs of concept, and Executive Briefings. The lab will play a key role in showcasing Fortinet’s leadership and practical capabilities in securing Generative AI infrastructures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a realistic Generative AI lab environment.
- Develop components such as prompt user interfaces, AI agents, MCP servers, and RAG pipelines.
- Build GenAI-enabled enterprise use-case applications (Finance, Sales, HR, IT).
- Design scenarios that simulate attacks and misuse of AI systems.
- Support the integration and demonstration of cybersecurity protections for AI workloads.
- Assist the team in preparing technical demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept environments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Interest in Generative AI technologies, LLMs, and modern AI architectures.
- Basic knowledge of software development and AI frameworks.
- Familiarity with containers, APIs, or Kubernetes is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
