Fortinet, a global leader and innovator in Network Security and the leading cyber security vendor in Latin America, has the following job opening in our Latin America Engineering team.
Fortinet seeks a Consulting Security Engineer in support of sales, marketing and development efforts in the Latin American region. A CSE is a Senior Engineer, part of an elite team, who acts as an architect and advisor to the field engineering and accounts teams. The CSE engages in large impact deals across a range of industries by providing expert advice on the design, architecture and implementation of solutions that best meet the specific customer needs. The CSE works alongside peer field engineers, account teams, and channel partners, throughout the sales process. The CSE is expected to shape the positive outcome of customer engagements such as presentations, meetings, demonstrations and proof of concept (POC) activities. This role offers high visibility to senior management, networking across corporate teams as well as the opportunity to shape the business and the direction of our future products.
Responsibilities:
Support sales activities in Latin America as a strategic and high-level regional technical resource for strategic pre-sales engagements and key opportunities.
Conduct technical meetings with customers and resellers to highlight our products and solutions.
Participate in the planning and execution of proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives both on-site and remotely.
Provide pre-sales technical support to Fortinet Sales representatives, Fortinet resellers and distributors, in order to positively influence sales within Latin America.
- Assist Fortinet Sales representatives to perform technical design of security solutions for customers. Recommend the best technical solution for a given scenario, in order to provide quality products and services to Fortinet’s customers
Act as subject-matter expert in pre-sales design reviews and serve as consultant to Field Systems Engineers by providing technical guidance and leadership.
Participate with SE peers to lead the design and architecture of secure IP networks utilizing and leveraging all aspects of Fortinet’s product line to create superior solutions in competitive environments.
Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to help identify, qualify, and develop features critical to Fortinet’s success.
Create technical documents that can help the partner base to perform better/quicker/ demonstration demos to effectively show Fortinet’s products strengths.
Create/Modify/translate presentations as needed to effectively deliver Fortinet’s message to any type of audience
Be part of a distributed team of people that shares workload and assignments. Strong sense of teamwork is required.
Take internal training as needed (including self-training modules) in order to keep product knowledge at the best possible, and be an expert resource for resellers, partners, distributors and other peers.
Travel within Latin America on short notice.
Comply with activity reports and ensure timely communication with CSE Manager / CSE VP.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and Skill Requirements:
Technical experience in networking/computing
Extensive and proven experience in designing, building and supporting advanced cybersecurity solutions in a customer facing role. 8+ years related experience.
Solid network and security skills including hands-on experience with products from top security vendors
- Solid understanding of:
Hands-on Experience with Secure Application Delivery use case development and operations. Application scalability, performance, and security whether hosted on-premises or in the cloud.
Experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF) and web applications and APIs from emerging web-based threats that target known and unknown vulnerabilities

Hands-on experience with Email Security, full spectrum of email-based threats such as sophisticated phishing, business email compromise (BEC), impersonation, account takeover, and AI-enhanced email threats.

Deep understanding of:
Network Infrastructure – Switching and Routing
Network Security Enforcement – NGFW/VPN; Access, Authentication, and Privacy
Layered security at Data, OS and Network levels
Cyber Security Domains and Principles
Familiar with Security Risk Assessment and Management
Experience working in a Managed Services (MSSP) environment
Experienced with log/data analysis and management tools
Good understanding and hands on experience with Virtualization and Public Cloud Computing platforms is a plus.
Ability to understand the specific customer environments and their security needs, and to articulate the best technical solution for a given scenario.
Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills. Capable of delivering product and technology presentations to technical and business audiences.
Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in cybersecurity
Outstanding project management and documentation skills. Ability to design and follow work plans for complex activities, and by following good documentation practices.
Ability to work effectively, to add value as a team member, and collaborate with a variety of teams such as engineering, sales, product management and customer support.
Ability to mentor other sales engineers and take a leadership role.
Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GCIA, GCIH) with vendor specific certifications are highly desirable.
Regional and international travel required.
