About the Role

We are seeking a Talent Operations Intern/ Coordinator to support the day-to-day delivery of core people operations across benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, employee support, compliance, and talent systems. his 12‑month contract role is ideal for someone new to the HR profession who wants to explore what it takes behind the scenes service delivery, process optimization, and automation within a growing organization. We are especially interested in someone who is curious and passionate about AI and automation, and excited about how these tools can improve Talent Operations. You’ll have opportunities to use AI to streamline workflows, standardize communications, reduce manual effort, and help modernize how Talent Operations work gets done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee onboarding experience for new hires, including delivering employee orientation and working with the recruitment, payroll, and management teams to set new hires up for success
  • HRIS – set up new hires in our HRIS (Oracle HCM), update employee data in Oracle HCM, generate reports for auditing and to track HR metrics.
  • Manage the HR knowledge base and ticketing system and take ownership of answering employee questions relating to benefits, RRSP, HRIS, HR policies and more.
  • Benefits and RRSP Administration – manage benefit enrollments, troubleshoot benefits related issues, and escalate issues to benefits carriers when required.
  • Maintain integrity of employee data in Oracle HCM through regular audits.
  • Maintain HR section of company intranet (Sharepoint) and update information when required.
  • Draft employment verification letters and respond to employment background check requests.
  • Support immigration activities and assisting with immigration audits.
  • Find opportunities to use AI tools (e.g. Copilot) to automate and streamline processes.
  • Provide support to the US Talent Operations team as needed

Who We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, and/or hands-on HR training under the guidance of HR mentors.
  • Passion for AI with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline and automate processes
  • Professional human resources work experience in which you have proven yourself as an efficient, analytical, organized, and trusted resource that played a critical role for the team(s) you were on, is an asset.
  • Track record of providing effective and quality customer service in a high-pace and high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage operational, process-driven work – administration experience with a HR Information System is an asset.
  • General understanding of group benefits, Canadian employment laws, and HR systems with a keen interest to learn more.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products, especially in Excel.
  • Independent yet collaborative professional who has managed competing priorities, and worked alongside and within a network of multiple stakeholder groups.

The Canada base salary range for this position is expected to be between $50,000 - $65,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
