We are currently seeking a dynamic Software Development Engineer to contribute to the success of our rapidly growing business.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will:

  • Act as a staff member of the Software Development Department, responsible for software development of LAN switch products
  • Work with internal teams to investigate current and future architectures, requirements, and technology needs.
  • Responsible for one or more functions/modules of of the Linux kernel and related software to be embedded into the product, and develops them from basic design to detailed design, coding, testing, and bug fixing.
  • Work cross-functionally with software development, hardware development, and quality assurance to provide high-quality products.
  • Proactively participate in technical and complex problem solving.
  • Research and apply new technologies and tools in the industry to their development.

We Are Looking For:
An insightful and influential collaborator to join our team. We encourage you to apply for this position if you have the following qualities:

  • 3+ years of software development experience in the IT/software industry
  • Experience developing UNIX software in C language
    - Experience in Python or other language development is a plus
  • Knowledge and development experience with the following Linux kernels:
    - Basic knowledge of Linux and an understanding of the basic structure and operation of the kernel (boot, resource management, scheduler, device drivers, system calls, file systems, network stack).
  • Ability to investigate and analyze Linux kernel, and work on source code modifications when defects are identified.
  • Basic knowledge of networks and Layer 2/Layer 3, and basic operation and configuration of network switches.
  • Experience with the following. (do not need to match all of them)
    - Experience in building a development environment
    - Experience in implementing vulnerability countermeasures based on information from CERT and other sources.
    - Experience developing with chip vendor SDKs
    - Experience developing hardware control for embedded devices
    - Experience developing system management for embedded devices
    - Experience developing user interface and business logic applications for embedded devices
    - Knowledge and experience with switch chips in network equipment
    - Knowledge and experience with BIOS and Boot
    - Knowledge and experience with Layer 2 network protocols
    - Knowledge and experience with Layer 3 network protocols
    - Knowledge and experience with network switch security features
    - Knowledge and experience with technologies such as REST API, NETCONF, SNMP, Telemetry, ansible, etc.
  • Smooth communication and negotiation with stakeholders
  • Emphasis on teamwork
  • Inquisitiveness for new technology
  • Want to develop high quality products
  • Native level Japanese
  • Ability to read and understand English documents, ability to communicate in English via email
    - Ability to speak English is a plus
