Job Description: Inside Consulting Systems Engineer – OT Cyber Security Objective

Fortinet’s mission is to deliver the most innovative, highest-performing network security fabric to secure and simplify IT and OT infrastructures. The Junior Systems Engineer will join a highly experienced OT technical team supporting the positioning and validation of Fortinet security solutions for OT customers across EMEA. The role will actively contribute to the development, improvement, and day-to-day operation of the EMEA OT Lab and its demo/validation capabilities, including lab usage for customer sessions (EBC), internal testing, and partner enablement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, improve, and maintain the EMEA OT Lab infrastructure (hardware, software, virtualization, containers, network/security components, documentation, internal tools/scripts).
• Operate and continuously enhance demo and validation environments used for customer-facing sessions, including Executive Briefing Center (EBC) engagements in Sophia Antipolis.
• Assist EMEA field CSEs with lab and PoC setup, including solution validation, troubleshooting, reproducibility of issues, and test result documentation aligned with customer needs.
• Execute functional and security tests to support pre-sales activities and internal qualification efforts, producing clear technical artifacts (topologies, runbooks, reports).
• Build automation for lab provisioning and repeatable validation (e.g., Ansible/Terraform, REST APIs, CI-style workflows) to improve speed and quality of demos/PoCs.
• Support OT-oriented event development and delivery (e.g., technical workshops, OT demo days, OT-focused Capture-the-Flag content), including environment prep, scenario creation, and live support during events.

Requirements and skills

• Diploma of Technology or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
• Strong networking fundamentals (switching/routing, firewalls, IDS/IPS, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, VPN).
• Knowledge of virtualization and container technologies.
• Automation experience (Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs).
• Unix shell and Python programming.
• Low-level programming familiarity (C/C++/Rust) and/or full-stack development is a plus.
