Overview:
Fortinet is recruiting an Information Systems Engineer to join our EMEA OpenStack system team. This team is responsible for deploying, managing, operating our OpenStack-based private cloud platforms.
As part of the Management Information System (MIS) team, you will be involved in EMEA servers’ deployment, systems deployment, automation. You will be driving remote field engineers in datacentres and working with remote teammates. You will ensure that systems are delivered efficiently, and securely, while supporting business objectives such as scalability, reliability, and performance. This position would represent a great fit for OpenStack engineer or IT professionals with a combination of Linux, automation, containers. The ideal candidate can adapt to different environments and seeks production reliability; you support Fortinet’s ongoing growth within EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages multiple production OpenStack private cloud infrastructures in EMEA within the MIS System team, helping the development and deployment of new platforms across the EMEA region.
- Handle incidents and technical escalations by hosting conference calls, coordinating actions, troubleshooting, and providing analysis and technical investigation of issues within the Fortinet systems environment
- Install, configure, automate, patch hundreds of Linux servers using git/ansible
- EMEA systems installation from physical server plan and layout to host installation, system configuration and tuning
- Work with remote teammates, remote field engineers
- Involved in change management, perform production changes, upgrades, apply security patches, following carefully the processes
- Manage OnCall to provide 24/7 support with the team
- Build/Share procedures in our Wiki, build share scripts in our repos
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
- Around 5 years of experience with production platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Advanced experience in Linux based systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Experience in OpenStack administration
- Experience in at least one scripting language (Ansible, Python, Bash, etc.) and repository management like git
- Experience in change management process, Jira
- Excellent ability to organize, multitask, work individually and in a team, able to adapt
- All positions require strong oral and written communication skills. All positions also require good knowledge of English (written and spoken) to provide full information as well as to document tasks, processes, areas of responsibility for configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Nice to have:
- Docker/Kubernetes, container, orchestration experience is a plus
- Datacentre operations knowledge
- System logging like ELK knowledge
- knowledge in network, server and system monitoring (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, etc...)
- RedHat Certification
- ITIL Certification
- Knowledge in software defined storage and network
