Systems Engineer – Public Sector (Critical Infrastructure)

We are currently seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer – Public Sector (Critical Infrastructure) to support the growth of our rapidly expanding Public Sector business.

In this role, you will act as the key technical advisor and trusted partner for customers across the Public Sector, with a particular focus on critical national infrastructure (CNI) organisations—including energy, utilities, transportation, healthcare, government agencies, and other essential services. You will drive technical enablement, solution design, and architectural leadership to help these organisations strengthen resilience and secure their mission‑critical environments.

As a Systems Engineer – Public Sector (Critical Infrastructure), you will:

• Guide all technical aspects of the customer engagement process, from responding to RFIs to managing RFPs/RFQs and coordinating Proof of Concept activities with internal teams and strategic partners

• Interpret and translate customer technical requirements—often within highly regulated or operationally sensitive environments—into secure, scalable, and resilient solutions

• Serve as the primary technical contact for Public Sector and CNI customers, working closely with the aligned sales team to support account strategy and long‑term customer success

• Maintain deep knowledge of Fortinet’s portfolio, including solutions relevant to OT/ICS, Zero Trust, secure networking, cloud security, and SOC modernisation

• Stay informed on evolving cybersecurity threats, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements impacting Public Sector and critical infrastructure organisations

• Communicate the value of Fortinet’s solutions clearly and confidently through presentations, whiteboarding, technical workshops, documentation, and architectural discussions

• Manage multiple engagements efficiently while delivering a responsive, high‑quality experience to customers with mission‑critical operational needs

• Accurately maintain technical details and activity records in our CRM (Salesforce) for customer and prospect accounts

We Are Looking For:

An insightful, influential collaborator who thrives in complex, high‑stakes environments. You should apply if you have the following qualities:

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion prevention, malware protection, routing, switching, LAN/WAN

• Experience in a pre‑sales engineering role, ideally supporting Public Sector, critical infrastructure, or regulated industries

• Familiarity with OT/ICS environments, SCADA systems, or the unique security challenges of operational technology is a strong plus

• Ability to address complex challenges and design solutions that support secure, resilient, and compliant operations

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders

• Familiarity with technologies and protocols such as RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, 3DES

• CISSP certification is a plus; additional OT‑focused certifications (e.g., GICSP) are advantageous
