Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise Java development, particularly with EJB and EAR-based applications, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying distributed applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications using EJB and EAR.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and integrate Java-based backends with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
- Work with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
- Deploy and manage large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java, including EJB and EAR-based applications.
- Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, especially MySQL and MongoDB.
- Proven experience in deploying and maintaining distributed systems at scale.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other backend languages such as Python, Node.js, or Go.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $70,000 - $95,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
