Why Kick

Kick is an applied AI company building the world’s first self-driving bookkeeping experience. Backed by OpenAI, General Catalyst, and Google Ventures with $20M raised, we’re helping millions of business owners and accountants automate the boring stuff so they can focus on what matters most.

We’re a fast-moving team of engineers, entrepreneurs, and domain experts who value craft, creativity, agency, and candor—and we’re on a mission to enable entrepreneurship.

About the Role

Operations is a brand-new team at Kick. Think of us as business builders—generalists who roll up their sleeves, partner directly with customers, and translate insights into product. This is your chance to push your limits, become a valued domain expert, and break into product or bizops at a high-growth startup.

What You’ll Do

  • Bring accounting and finance expertise into product discovery, using both your background and our unique AI-native product development process.
  • Work directly with customers and design partners to shape experiences and feed insights into new products.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Engineering, and Design to prototype, ship, and iterate on features end-to-end.
  • Partner with Growth, Sales, and CX to unlock new segments, partnerships, and markets.
  • Contribute to and improve Kick’s industry-leading AI models.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7+ years in consulting, accounting, finance (MBB, Big 4, IB) or high-growth startups.
  • Clear, adaptable communicator across technical and non-technical conversations.
  • Proven ability to drive projects from zero to one.
  • Fast learner with curiosity and a bias for collaboration.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and moving fast with incomplete data.
  • Balance of low ego and high ambition, to scale impact far beyond yourself.

Bonus Points For

  • Empathy for entrepreneurs: self-employed, side hustle, or experience serving SMBs.
  • Advanced business credentials: MS/MBA, CPA, CFA
  • Technical curiosity: SQL, JavaScript, Python, or tinkering with AI/code-gen tools.

Location

This role is based in Palo Alto, California. Candidates should be in or open to relocating to the Bay Area.

What We Offer

  • Top-of-market salary: $140,000–$200,000
  • Competitive equity that’s QSBS-eligible
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision for you and your family
  • Life insurance & disability coverage
  • 401(k) with retirement benefits
  • Daily lunches, snacks, and beverages (coffee, macha, carbonated)
