We’re seeking a rounded Tax Associate Manager with experience in tax automation & compliance process improvement. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind modernizing our tax compliance functions, moving them from manual processes to a scalable, future-proof framework. You'll use your broad tax knowledge and technical skills to enhance compliance, streamline reporting, and build a more efficient tax infrastructure.
This role requires you to commute to our Berlin office at least 3 times a week.
What You'll Do
Indirect Tax Automation: Spearhead the rollout of automation and process improvement initiatives for indirect tax, including VAT, and sales/use tax. This includes designing and implementing scalable solutions for data management and tax reporting.
Optimize Compliance & Reporting: Take ownership of the full indirect tax compliance (including digital service tax) lifecycle, ensuring accurate and timely submission of returns and reports across multiple jurisdictions.
Support Tax Infrastructure: Build and maintain robust tax processes, controls, and documentation to support a future-proof compliance framework.
Drive Tax Transformation: Play a key role in implementing new tax technology and leveraging data analytics to enhance our tax functions.
Support Other Tax Initiatives: Assist with corporate income tax matters for non-US entities, including data gathering for tax provisions and return preparation.
Monitor Legislation & Audits: Keep a pulse on changes in tax legislation, assess their impact on the business, and assist with managing tax queries and audits.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Finance, Operations, Risk and Controls and other teams to ensure tax processes are fully integrated with business activities and systems.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in indirect tax compliance and a strong grasp of general tax principles, specifically for the digital service industry
A passion for tax technology, automation, and process improvement.
Broad tax experience, including familiarity with corporate income tax matters.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex tax requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams.
A proactive mindset with a track record of driving change and taking on new challenges.
