We are currently looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage intracompany/intercompany accounting, support the month-end close cycle and consolidation (OneStream), maintain FloQast, prepare transfer-pricing and support tax reporting, assist with financial reporting, and improve processes with automation/AI.
This role is required to commute to our Norwalk, CT office at least 3 times per week.
In this role, you will:
Intracompany and Intercompany Accounting
Reconcile and analyze intracompany transactions across KAYAK legal entities, coordinate with the Billing team to oversee the autointercompany scripts related to intracompany revenue allocation, provide guidance and support to KAYAK teams regarding intracompany accounting policies and procedures, as well as manage intracompany settlements on a monthly basis, while considering foreign currency implications.
Support the intercompany accountant (Center of Excellence) in monitoring and analyzing intercompany partner (ICP) transactions, ensuring alignment with ICPs and BHI, and resolving variances (breaks) during month-end close process.
Support the Associate Manager with variance analysis on intracompany and intercompany balances, identifying trends and unusual items within fluctuations. Prepare the intercompany tax (BEAT) model, while coordinating with KAYAK and BHI Tax teams.
Support KAYAK Tax team in Transfer Pricing compliance, including but not limited to, reviewing transactions for GL appropriateness, and posting entries. Develop and maintain monthly Transfer Pricing reporting and analysis, distribute to internal teams to support refinement.
Leverage AI, or other automation tools, for process improvements related to consolidation, reporting, and intracompany and intercompany accounting. Our priority is to automate our intracompany process and reconciliation, including revaluations by ICP relationship, to ensure elimination within our ICP matrix while creating efficiency.
Monthly Close Cycle & Reporting
Update and maintain the KAYAK Monthly Actuals Analysis files (P&L and Balance Sheet) to reflect OneStream, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates.
Support the preparation of Consolidation and Reporting team deliverables and various reporting packages for Management review, including but not limited to, internal close documents, management reporting, and other ad hoc reporting. Support the review of FX fluctuation and reporting by collaborating with preparer, providing analysis on various intra & intercompany drivers. Further develop Digital Service Tax (DST) reporting, leveraging AI to support various analyses.
Ensure deadlines are met in line with KAYAK and BHI close calendars, including but not limited to the five-business-day close, various deliverable deadlines, and the post-close adjustment process administration. Coordinate with various teams on these matters.
Own and manage the relationship with the Enterprise Systems (ES) team, ensuring alignment on critical support needs.
FloQast Management, Chart of Accounts (COA) Ownership, and Other Responsibilities
Act as FloQast administrator for the accounting teams, ensuring completeness as well as maintaining alignment, reconciliations, and documentation. Monitor task completion and provide support to team members to ensure compliance with close activities. Oversee FloQast alignment project outputs, ensuring all reconciliations and checklist items adhere to the latest guidelines.
Maintain user access, role assignments, and ongoing optimization of FloQast functionality. Coordinate with the Enterprise Systems (ES) team.
Liaison between the Company and FloQast support teams, to quickly troubleshoot any issues or disruptions.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the KAYAK global Chart of Accounts (COA), including descriptions. Review and submit requests for new accounts for approval, ensuring consistency with reporting requirements. Coordinate with the ES team on account creation and BHI for OneStream mapping approvals. Periodically review account usage for accuracy, recommending changes or clean-up where needed.
Partner with GL accounting, FP&A, Tax, and other stakeholders to align COA structure with business and reporting needs.
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and providing supporting documentation.
Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with US GAAP / IFRS as applicable.
Future support for the Associate Manager by preparing the initial fluctuation analysis for KAYAK Balance Sheet and P&L on a monthly, quarterly basis, and future ownership of BHI rollforward and activity checks and balances, essential for the final upload of actuals.
Required experience and skills:
An accounting degree or similar proven working experience in related fields is required. CPA track will be considered an advantage.
Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets (Pivot tables, XLookup, and Macros), is essential, and experience with OneStream, NetSuite, and FloQast is highly preferred.
Ability to effectively leverage AI to implement efficiencies within existing processes.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert with exceptional attention to detail and strong, effective communication skills.
Be a driven and independent worker with the proven ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and requests.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States-based role is $80,000 - $90,000.00.
