Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
As the founding leader of this division, you will have end-to-end ownership of the business. Your key responsibilities will span across four critical phases:
Develop the comprehensive business plan, financial models, and go-to-market strategy for the new financing division.
Conduct market analysis to define competitive loan products, pricing structures, and underwriting criteria.
Present the strategic vision and performance metrics to the executive team and board.
Legal, Compliance & Operations:Partner with legal counsel and external consultants to navigate the complex state and federal regulatory landscape for consumer lending.
Establish all necessary operational processes, including loan application, underwriting, funding, and servicing protocols.
Lead the selection and implementation of a core technology stack, including a Loan Origination System (LOS) and other FinTech platforms.
Launch & Business Development:Manage the project from concept to a successful market launch.
Serve as the primary stakeholder for the new division, working closely with internal teams (Sales, IT, Marketing) to ensure a seamless integration with our core auto sales business.
Identify and build relationships with key external partners, such as capital providers, technology vendors, and compliance experts.
Performance & Scaling:Hold full P&L responsibility for the financing division.
Continuously monitor and manage the health of the loan portfolio, focusing on key metrics like origination volume, default rates, and profitability.
As the business scales, build and lead a high-performing team to manage day-to-day operations.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate who thrives on building from zero and has a proven track record of turning strategy into tangible business results.
7+ years of professional experience in roles that involve business building, business development, or strategic operations.
A proven entrepreneurial track record: You have experience building a new business, product line, or division from the ground up.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills: You are highly proficient in building business cases, analyzing data to make decisions, and managing a P&L.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills: You excel at communicating with and influencing a wide range of audiences, from C-suite executives to legal experts and technical teams.
Business development mindset: You have experience structuring complex deals, negotiating with partners, and driving commercial outcomes.
Direct experience in the auto finance or leasing industry, or experience in a FinTech environment, particularly with loan origination or servicing platforms is a plus
Familiarity with the legal and regulatory requirements of consumer lending is a plus
