The Opportunity
Iru is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to support our Finance team with critical posting functions. This role is responsible for processing and posting Accounts Payable invoices and payments, recording cash-related journal entries, and tracking cash postings to ensure accuracy and timely reconciliation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

  • Review and process invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports
  • Ensure proper coding, approvals, and adherence to company policies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain AP aging reports.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end compliance requirements
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Support consolidated reporting across multiple entities, including inter company reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Partner with external auditors during audits by providing requested materials
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting best practices
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience (mix of GL and AP preferred)
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting practices
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
