The Opportunity
We are excited to be hiring a Staff Product Designer, Design Systems with strong expertise in visual design and a passion for building world-class design systems. In this role, you will be responsible for evolving and maintaining Kandji’s design system, ensuring consistency across the platform while enabling product teams to create highly polished and scalable user interfaces. You will partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to create a cohesive design language that elevates the user experience across all touchpoints. As a key contributor, you will play a strategic role in shaping Kandji’s design standards and visual identity.
How you will make a difference day to day
- Develop, maintain, and evolve a comprehensive design system that includes patterns, components, style guides, and documentation, ensuring a consistent and accessible user experience across the platform.
- Design UI components with a strong focus on visual detail, typography, color theory, and overall aesthetics to deliver a beautiful user experience.
- Work closely with product teams to ensure design consistency and quality, aligning with business objectives and user needs.
- Promote and facilitate the use of the design system across the organization, ensuring designers, engineers, and product managers are educated on best practices.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and other designers to identify and implement design improvements that enhance user experience and visual consistency.
- Participate in user research activities, usability testing, and customer interviews to validate design system components and iterate based on feedback.
- Uphold a high standard for design quality, ensuring that the design system is visually compelling, scalable, and adaptable to different product contexts.
- Create UI components that are not only visually appealing but also user-friendly, accessible, and easy to implement across different product areas.
- Get involved in all phases of the design process, from conceptualization to production, with a focus on visual design and design system enhancements.
- Thrive in a team-oriented, feedback-driven culture where everyone contributes to the success of the product.
We’d love to hear from you if you have
- 6+ years of experience in designing user-centric interfaces across responsive web, with a portfolio that showcases your visual design skills, design system work, and design thinking.
- Strong expertise in Figma and other UX/UI design tools, specifically in creating, managing, and evolving design systems.
- Proficiency in design system management tools like Storybook and Zero Height, with experience documenting, implementing, and maintaining UI components and guidelines.
- Proven experience in designing visually compelling user interfaces that simplify complex processes while ensuring consistency and scalability.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, visual design fundamentals, and accessibility standards, particularly within enterprise-level applications.
- Exceptional collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and other designers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and advocate for design system adoption.
- Required to work on-site 5x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables).
Nice to haves, but NOT required
- Experience designing for SaaS platforms, with a focus on maintaining design systems that improve the customer journey and internal workflows.
- Strong visual design skills, with a focus on typography, color theory, and creating visually compelling UI components that enhance the overall user experience.
- Familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and accessibility standards, as well as a solid understanding of responsive design principles.
- Experience working in an agile environment, with the ability to iterate quickly and incorporate feedback effectively.
